Gnonto and Harrison are the only `better' players they have. Gnonto doesn't have a release clause but Harrison does - £16m apparently. A flying Bamford is worth a look too, but he struggled last year. His clause is meant to be about £30m, which isn't exactly a bargain.

There is an underestimation of players desire to play in the top flight. JWP has played in the Prem his whole career. He regards himself as a Premiership player. He is pretty big name and has no reason to play in the Championship. It's `beneath' him at this point in his career if truth be told. I also don't think JWP will require a move to a `top' club. Fulham came 10th last season. They may not be a glamour side, but neither were we. Obviously he will want to go to the best side possible, but if the money was right, I'm guessing it wasn't at Brentford, I'd of thought he would be interested in a move to almost any Prem side. I am not sure playing in Europe is the be all and end all. Playing in the Prem is more important than the Europa League.

If the Livramento price (£50m) is anything to go by, we ain't allowing Tella to leave for buttons, which explains why he ain't at Burnley already. I suspect they will need to break their transfer record to get him. They may do so, but being back in the Prem provides them with a lot more options as decent players from abroad are more willing to move to the top flight than to the Championship.

We had too many holes that needed filling last summer. The centre forward position was a mess. The lack of pace and flair in the attacking midfield roles.

I've mentioned it before. Makes more sense for West Ham to try to get Lavia than JWP. It will be interesting should they provide a suitable bid and the bigger clubs fail to do so what Lavia will do. Will he do a `Gakpo' and wait for the big clubs to see the light or make the move and continue his path upwards? If he turns down that move where does it leave us financially? do we have to accept a lower bid from a big side?

we'd of still gone down. In addition to the two positions you mentioned, we needed a really good keeper and CB. Also the Alcaraz and Sulemena signings were needed in the summer not January. Instead we got Aribo and Edozie.
