  1. Agreed, but Isn't macca injured?
  2. Perfect summary. Thin gruel indeed.
  3. The club has just given Djenepo a new three year contract. His ride is well and truly paid for.
  4. If we are also linked with Berge et al over the next week or two I will expect a scouting fee Saints. I like the look of Jackson. Pace and power from wide areas is exactly what we need. Young and a bit raw, a lack of goals so far is a slight concern, but turning defence onto attack quickly is something we have not done a lot if, and he might help there.
  5. I was wondering the same thing. Exactly the type of player (age and ability) we want (but can't/haven't been able) to sign.
  6. Yes
  7. if we signed all the players that look against us, we'd have a huge squad.
  8. if we sign a right winger, which we badly need if we are going to play three up front, that doesn't go straight into the side, then we are doomed.

OK. That means we will have 7 players stopping goals and four to score them, one of those JWP who has been a deep lying midfielder most of his career and a single striker, Adams, who has tended to play as part of a two striker attack. With so few forward players there will be no chance of pressing high up the pitch and getting cheap ball in dangerous areas, which is where a lot of our goals have come from over the last four years. Are you not worried that we might struggle (even more) to score goals?
  10. I'm getting fed up of mine not even bothering to ask, it's just automatically assumed that we have lost again.

    Clusterfuck is the perfect word.
  12. Not very effective in air cannons.
  13. well, apart from the fact none of the left backs are any good, the star right back hasn't played well this season and his replacement is a loaned CM that doesn't want play there. oh, and we concede goals from all angles and create little from those players either. Weirdly, despite all that, you are right, it's the last area that needs improving.
  14. Berge has 18 months left on his contract. Time is running out for them to make their money back on him, but they are still in the hunt for promotion, so more likely the summer that he will move. Ings is the obvious short term fix for us, but paying a sizeable fee and £100k+ wages for a 30 year old may not easily swallowed by SR. I also think we need another winger, with pace and power if Tella isn't considered the answer.
  15. yeah, if you ignore the massive Wood, Bruno and Willock signings and the agreed £16m transfer fee for Targett, and the actual figure of closer to £13 for Burn, they basically paid nothing. 😉 The fact remains, they turned things around brilliantly. How do we repeat the trick? Maybe something like Wan Bissaka loan Sander Berge Nicholas Jackson Ings
  16. I think spending £40m on Guimareas was pretty glamorous. They then spent Wood £30 Willock £28m Burn £14m Tripper £13m Target £16m so, about £145m. What would be the equivalent this time around, on our budget?
  17. or £2.5m if you read a different paper. Either way, I don't think that money is going to make or break us. Finding the right quality player that is willing to come to us is going to be the issue in this window.
  18. like a revolving door. Although the woeful press is another issue and thats a team issue - something that should have been addressed on day one of NJs tenure.
  19. We badly need to get some confidence from somewhere. Something needs to click in place, we need a great goal or a late come back or suchlike. This game is massive...the season will disappear so quickly.
  20. I wish I shared your confidence.

first game was a 1-1 draw at home to Millwall, but we then were tonked 3-1 away at Huddersfield. Sir Ricky scored on is debut, but we were pretty shite.
  22. I'm wondering who is best equipped to prevent Mitrovic bossing things. ABK, Salisu or CC. Seeing as both/all will ed up up one v one at some point, lets hope they all are fully on their game.

Seems a little early to write him off. I know many were not happy with the appointment, but I did think he'd get a little more chance to turn this sinking ship around. Have people forgot just how fucking shit the side was under RH. Boxing day was bad, really bad, but was it any worse than at Burnley or Brentford towards the back end of last season? Thought we played pretty well in the second half at Anfield. Far better than the absolute shit show up there the previous season with RH at the helm.
  24. Can we swap Diallo for Davies?
  25. Stephens wasn't bad on the ball for a CB, but Lyanco is better. Might work better than Diallo. Might not.
