  1. The goal was one of those things. But when it comes to Perraud, everyone seems to love him on here. I don't get it. He's slow, technically limited, terrible in the air...he tries hard...but that's it.
  2. watch Diallo's play during that last chance for Brighton just before half time. Fucking embarrassing defensive midfield play. Pathetic. The whole half was horrible, but his play there has got me fuming. Lightweight....grrr aghhhhhhhhh, Fuck offfff.
  3. not totally his fault for the goal as the Bazunu touch fucked him, but I agree. Limited at best.
  4. Lyanco dives in, again, but got away with it again. He's a liability.
  5. Brighton look miles better than us. Miles Oh dear Bazunu.
  6. Our press is child's play to play through. Going to need to adjust that
  7. Lyanco dives in, but got away with it.
  8. Brighton look very confident. Edozie equally so and makes something happen straight away
  9. A target man would certainly be nice. I don't know Wood's game all that well. I know he's a big guy that wins some headers and scores some `ugly' goals, often against us, but is his hold up play any good?
  10. No its because he's been pretty shit and that's coming from someone that has suggested we sign him while he was at Charlton, so would love to see him be a star for us. He's got skills on the ball, especially in tight areas, but he's been absolutely woeful IMO in the four or five games running up to the world cup. His `display' at Bournemouth was terrible. I don't expect him to charge around, but I do expert him to come alive when he gets the ball.
  11. Both seem to fit our style of transfer (value, wages, etc) and overall position in the football pyramid. It's really hard to see who we will get in this window. Kent might sit tight until the summer Karlsson might just fancy grabbijng the opportunity/contract when he can.
  12. that's the spirit. Things don't look great at the moment, but a a couple of good performances and a few wins and the vibe around the club could change quite quickly. It feels like mission impossible right now, but maybe by the time that game come around we will be in a different place.
  13. Kent has always impressed me when I have seen Rangers and thought he was the guy we should have gone for, rather than Aribo. He always seems lively, direct and causes problems for fullbacks. Hopefully not another McCant.

    Nathan Tella

the word `lightweight' comes up a few times and no one seems to think his ability on the ball compensates. Pretty much the same things I've said abut him when playing up a level.
  15. nicely put. If we are playing someone like City, where our midfielders end up playing almost as defenders, I can understand it, but even then, I'd prefer to see us play 4-4-2/4-3-3 etc and have that extra player in midfield. OK, so you may lose at City, but if you play five defenders and get into a mindset of sitting deep, you can't just flip a switch and start creating chances right left and centre against lessor sides. Chelsea won the league with 5-3-2, so it can work, but I can't recall a performance to be proud of when we have played five at the back.
  16. I have no idea why people keep putting Aribo in their starting eleven. He was a complete passenger in the games before the World Cup.
  17. Yep. Jones has played plenty of our youngsters and when Lavia is fit, he'll be another. Give it a season and he'll be giving Ballard and Jimmy-J games too, I suspect.
  18. Who says Ryan Fraser will deliver now?
  19. A player like Nicolas Jackson at Villarreal might help add some pace and power coming off a wide starting position. He was the guy that ran past four or five of Saints player in the pre-season game. Another young player though, as yet to fulfil his full potential. Not sure that would go down well on here.
  20. Edozie apart, there aren't many players outside the first eleven that fans are clamouring to be selected. Mara has been uninspiring, Aribo woeful. Even Bazuna's biggest critics aren't actually calling for McCarthy to be recalled.
  21. Do Bazunu, Bella-Ketchup, Mara and Edozie not count as youngsters? Our summer transfer dealings also included AMN, Aribo and Caleta Car. So not sure why you think we are `writing off 80% of our transfer dealings'. Lavia was injured, so that means only one summer signing, Larios, was not involved. Or by `youngsters' do you mean youth team players?
  22. Looking at the Luton squad, there is only one 21 year old and one 22 year old (funnily enough both signed in the summer), with the rest of the squad 24 and above, and mostly in their late 20s.
  23. London game with 15% of the tickets going to us. Could be worse.
  24. Is that a quote from Semmens and if so, who is he referring to when it comes to making decisions about the way we play? In contrast to Gao, that would certainly be getting involved if he means the owners.
  25. this deal was never on IMO. He thought Man United were going to come in for him, and had his heart set on a move there, but it turned out to just be paper talk. When it dawned him that that was the case, he looked at the other options and felt those clubs were not `big' enough and just couldn't accept those offers, so stayed. I'm inclined to agree that our original offer took place a while before it came out in the press. By then we had moved on and possibly spent the funds on a few more City nippers. Maybe. I'm not confident the £25m ear marked for him is still there. It might be, but I'd be amazed if we signed a £30m striker in January. Never say never though.
