are you saying the £40m bid by Newcastle in January and turned down by saints didn't happen and was just `speculation'?
-
Like our umbro pinstripe kit in 2012/23. Simple retro classic. I eeally liked our white away kit that season. One of my favourite ever kits. As a rule, I think home kits should be like this. Classic, simple, not over fussy. Maybe away kits too. Third kits should be bold unorthodox creations.
-
the blue kit is tremendous, except for the tacked badges, which look terrible. Thats what I call `bold', and in the same mould as their (hummel's) goalkeeping shirts,
-
Who's the Dutch player that took his place? Can we sign him instead? That price sounds in our ball park. Wasn't a £10m bid already mentioned?
-
It's desperate and I'm not even sure this kit is `bold'. Slightly different perhaps, but bold? Like the previous Hummel kit, it looks cheap and a bit tacky if you ask me. I am really disappointed in the kits so far. I thought Hummel would bring a touch of class, and solid, but inventive design, but like Under Armour, they have created a dogs dinner of a home kit. I don't know where its going wrong, maybe its design by committee, but its poor design.

I'd argue that the 78-80 is the best and every shirt afterwards is an overfussy and poorer imitation. Some of the non striped shirts are absolutely horrible. Variety for sure, and the changing styles are of their moment, but shown like that, they all look pretty crap in comparison. Barca lost something as an entity when they put a sponsor on their shirt. They were something a little different and better in my eyes...

I have never rated him. He's simply not a very good striker. However, there were a couple of periods when we were on our knees and we turned to a more defensive approach with him running around a lot up front, and that approach helped us get out of our funk and turned our season around. Those two shirt periods showed the value of a guy that had pace to burn and could turn horrible hoofed clearances into decent out balls. Pace is so important and reduces the reliance of skill. I was at Anfield for the semi final, and it was without question one of the greatest nights in my football watching life. It was a great finish to a great move. That joy and relief will live in my memory forever. I hope we find a striker that can create a few more moments like that.
-
He is pretty `average' (and I don't mean he is the 10 or 11th best left in the league). He lacks pace and on the ball he is pretty limited. That doesn't mean he can't do a job, he is busy and gives his all (why we dropped him when the side was flowing I will never know) but there is so much room for improvement in that position. I have no issue with him being in our squad, but we ought to have two left backs and two right backs not 3 players covering both positions.

With fullback such an important position in Ralphs formation, we simply can't afford to go into the season with just Perraud and KWP. Vokins, Ramsey, Small and Valery just don't cut it. However, £10m bid turned down...we only have so much money to play with. Good to see we haven't sent all our scouts to Chelsea/City youth team games.
-
One year (out of a three year contract) at Molde, then sold to Feyenoord and a year into a five year contract. 30 games for them. Looks quite exciting. Pacey, attacking fullback that gets stuck in. Lots of composure when in attacking positions. Lots to like about his youtube videos.
-
I got massive Kayne Ramsay vibes in the cup game. He wants games, a loan would give him that. I'd like to see left back strengthened. Not convinced by Perraud and KWP should be playing right back.
-
How long is Tino out for? Fullback is a key position. Overloading is no bad thing.

skint you say, wit a crap team and a crap manager. Some has beens, never gonna be's ad kids not ready for Prem football...

https://www.getfootballnewsfrance.com/2022/marseille-are-hoping-to-sell-duje-caleta-car-this-summer/ Marseille need to sell someone. Slightly concerned that that report suggests he had some `poor outings'.
-
Just read a couple of 3 week old news items reporting that Bayern had put several players up for sale. Roca was one, and he jojned Leeds - so perhaps the stories are reasonably accurate. Omar Richards was another, with Stuttgart interested. If we are looking for another left back - and I guess that all depends on how Small's progress is perceived, then Richards would be worth considering IMO. https://bayernstrikes.com/2022/06/13/bayern-munich-ready-move-three-fringe-players-summer/

Should be relatively easy to adjust these lyrics.. You keep on giving me the hold up, hold up Used to be my Romeu (Whoa-oh, yeah) Used to be my Romeu (Whoa-oh, yeah) Let it all go (Whoa-oh, yeah)

wondering if their legs will go wont be an issue then.

Sure, he might not make it, but because he is actually talented, he's got a better chance than most in our academy. City and Chelsea pay their 16 and 17 years old a shed load of money...and many of them come through. Not all of course, but many. If you are a top young prospect, you get paid these days by the big sides. Doesn't mean you sit back and spend your time counting your money. It's bad news losing talent like this.
-
scored a hattrick against them didn't he? Will have caught the eye.
-
When Watford made us look like chumps at SMS, was it Dennis that ran rings round us on the break of Saar? I can't remember.
-
Not sure I am `excited' by our recruitment. Nervous might be a better description, but then again I am a pessimist for sure. That said, I'm not bothered by the age of the players. Ajax made the EUROPA league final a couple of season ago with an entire team full of nippers. It's all about the quality. Hopefully we are signing gems. Genuine question. Do all/most players actually get better beyond 25 or have their reached their peak in terms of skill and fitness? Was a 30 year old Beckham better than a 25 year old Beckham? Perhaps this differs depending on the position.
-
plus making money on player transfers means that in the next cycle (a season or two down the line) we perhaps are able to pay £15m or £20m for a youngster instead of the £5m or £10m we can afford right now. The success of the Ings transfer though, does make me wonder if we need `gamble' a little more, especially up front, should the right guy be available. Not sure who that right guy is though. Broja or Saar from Watford perhaps...

You might have a point. Not sure traversing does look great. Better than stacking.
-
Just poor design. Lose the black lines and the badges could traverse the red and white stripes just fine (removing the black lines would also enable the sponsor logo to be transparent like the GK shirt - it cant be as the line would interfere with the lettering). Make the stripe wider and the badges fit into the red, make it thinner and they could appear to the side of it. It matters not. It is what it is. Will just bug the hell out of me all year. What's behind the pattern in the white. Or is it random? Shame they couldn't somehow tie that pattern in withe keeper shirt design to create a joined up kit.
