I love this. To the bitter end my friend. The bitter end.
-
I'm certainly not one of those that underestimates our own player wages. You misunderstood my post. I was wondering more if players like Broja were already on £40k a week at Chelsea.
-
have they mirrored us? When we sold our stars we replaced them with Pelle, Tadic , Mane, VVD etc. and everything was rosey. Then when that batch left things turned to shit. Leicester seemed to replace their stars with more stars, but the next phase (Bertrand, Vetsegaard etc) not quite so good.
-
he's the guy the Burnley fans think could go all the way to the top. I bet they are absolutely gutted that someone else has noticed and is willing to spend pretty big to get him.
-
Adam and I will do our best.
-
after a couple of outstanding seasons, he (agent led) will probably want paying. I'd of thought we'd be happy to extend, we may well have already tried, but I'm sure the agent would want £100k a week and that might be too rich for us?
-
Certainly looks the best RB linked to us.
-
Isn't our plan simply to offload anyone that is shit and sell if a) the price is fucking great b) the player wont sign a new contract and the price is acceptable?
-
That doesn't sound like a ringing endorsement, but as Walker continues to show, pace does get you a long way (and out of of a lot of jails).
-
I agree with you. We don't want to sell, we want to add a striker of two. We also don't want to sell for buttons. 20m is too cheap, but he's worth what someone will spend. 2 seasons left. I think its been mentioned a lot, that this the is perhaps the point (for most players) to sell or renew a contract. If that is the only decision, you would renew, and for say £75k a week?
-
the highlights video I watched during the week suggests he is in the Livramento mould. Loves to bomb forward. Looks pretty good. Never seen him in the flesh though.
-
perhaps worth its own thread... ...that's not a ringing endorsement. Our other attacking midfielders aren't exactly `above average'. As I said, there is a stuff to like, but he is one dimensional and his output last year was shit and he deserved a bit of criticism IMO. We (fans) like him, so he got a pass, but I am racking my brain to recall stand put displays in the Prem, especially as the side struggled? We he good in our purple period? I honestly cant remember.
-
£40m? That's a hard bargain, and prices Forest out. My guess is the `Forest interest' is just Che's agent starting the process or negotiating a new contract. As sure as night follows day, a new contract follows interest from another club.
-
sell Che, buy Broja? I wonder if that is the option. Every player has his price. If £20m is too cheap, what price is good value? Or (as usual) does it all depend on who we replace him with. With Brojas and Long gone. we ain't letting either guy leave without a decent transfer fee AND someone lined up.
-
Why would Broja not be included in the squad, then join up the following week? Is that statement basically code for "he ain't coming with us, but we cant be bothered to spend too much time talking about his probable transfer, so if we say he's coming later, it shuts down the questions, for now, even though he's off"?
-
Do players acquired with £10m-£15m transfer fees really only get £25k a week? That's only top end championship wages.
-
getting Johnson to sign a new deal was great for them. Spence and Garner did well for them last season, so they have had to spend to stay still. They have momentum. Thats not good for us. We need promoted sides to struggle.
-
he checked and he did. i thought he came later. very well liked by the fans, but was he actually any good? Was living in Hull around that time so didn't see many games live.
-
shame. would have liked us to sign him. I worry the reliance on KWP to cover both sides might bite us on the bum. i guess if we bring in a good right back on loan that will solve any potential issue;.
-
The hype was we were signing a 17 year old that could play for the first team. When you hear that kind thing you think of Luke Shaw and what a tremendous talent he was.my expectations were clearly too high. Doesn't mean he won't be great for us, but he hasnt bridged the youth to senior gap, yet.
-
He was signed as an exciting young talent, who seemed keen for first teams games straight away, hence the move. He hasn't done that. He hasnt stepped up from youth to senior yet. He's not stepped up yet. Not harsh. It's fact.
-
Good luck Joe. Worth the wait. Hope you tear it up.
-
Is Stuart Armstrong all that? I like his attitude, power running, engine etc. But he does run into blind alleys and gives the ball back. We don't win without him, but we don't win with much either.
-
Aribo was pretty average in his first season at Rangers. Better in the second season, Gerrard's last, but even better last season. Villa have a few decent attacking players already too.
-
isn't a Chelsea academy salary similar to our mid range players?
