  1. Are there any videos showing footage of his 7 games in Moscow? He looks powerful and skill full against other nippers, but Chelsea's youth team is so strong that its hard to gauge how good he is when decimating inferior rivals. Getting in the Chelsea youth side means he's half decent, but £17m decent? That's quite a lot of wedge for us to fork out for a `youth' player with limited games to go on. Obviously Livramento worked out well. But that doesn't mean they all will. £5m for an untried youngster is not to be sniffed at, but £17m? Blimey. He must be amazing. Or its that the price these days? Perhaps that figure was just agent/media talk?
  2. I am sure there are other options, but joining us and battling with McCarthy for the number 1 slot, assuming he has the contract The Athletic suggest, does seem to be a move that makes a lot of sense. Is there another Prem club that can offer him a similar chance to be first choice? Most have pretty secure first choices. That said, maybe he could earn a lot more simply being a number 2 at one of the big clubs.
  3. Nottarfkrap's Milton end is going to be sponsored by the Cayman Islands. Seems apt.
  4. this. the next Shearer. cutting out the middle man.
  5. The Wolves goal was certainly on him, but not sure yesterdays was his fault or that McCarthy would deal with it either. I'd be very surprised if we brought a keeper in in this window.
  6. It's a fair point, but it's much more down to luck than judgement that we haven't been punished far more. Sometimes the offside trap has been beaten and teams have missed the chance when it looked easier to score, others its been down to cm's and under the new VAR methodology wouldn't be offside. Two goals in two games conceded from similar free kicks because of the ploy. Is it a busted flush? I'm interested to know why we decided to use it. Is it used because our players simply can't or wont track runners? did we concede goals when defenders did their jobs? Are other teams conceding from this type/angle of long range free kick? I always thought that it's hard to score from that angle of cross.
  7. I was kind of thinking the same, slightly reckless, but to be fair it's a two footed block, not a two footed challenge and he didn't really endanger Broja
  8. I was very interested in KWP's interview on MOTD. He said: "This club has given me a really great opportunity, taking me from Tottenham two years ago now, so I'm just grateful for everything and every opportunity I get." ...and sounded extremely happy and genuine. If he is actually unhappy and angling for a move due to being dropped, as was mentioned on here during the week, it certainly didn't sound like it.
  9. to be fair, they had a lot of shots and crosses that didn't fall their way. We fought hard, but we rode our luck too. I was pretty happy with how the ball fell for us.
  10. either change the formation or play that flair player off Broja, as we have done a fair bit with Redmond this season.
  11. I agree with this. We signed Djenepo to do this but he has provided almost nothing. We need to try again to find a flamboyant pacey flair player.
  12. of course players can get injuries in all sorts of ways, but an opponent raking their studs down your thigh, is one that can be prevented. And isn't stopping bad fouls, that have the potential to cause injury, such as high raised boots with studs up, exactly what the law makers have been trying to do, by punishing them with reds? I perhaps need to watch it again, but my instant reaction was it `could' well be a red from the ref or if not the VAR may ask him to have another look. I was obviously wrong.
  13. I assume the word `dangerous' refers to danger of causing an injury, then what does that injury need to be? I don't know the current law, so just asking. When I played it was a yellow, but today, I think it's possibly touch and go.
  14. I'm surprised they didn't ask the ref to have another look. Glad they didn't.
  15. he certainly did, but for Sterlings chance saved by Forster, he literally stands there in no mans land and watches Sterling run into the box. If Sterling had scored, which he should have done, I'd of been fuming. Three minutes later he's nicking off Debryne's boot. Maybe he felt guilty at his lack of effort just before. Glad h got the chance to redeem himself.
  16. he rakes him with his studs down his thigh. It wasn't a good tackle. I'm not sure what the law says, but its got to be classified as dangerous play
  17. Battled right to the end. Excellent point. We had one or two chances to extend our lead too. A little disappointing not to be able to keep the ball a little more. It was attack vs defence for almost all the game really. They are in a different league to us though I suppose.
  18. we don't have the ability to keep the ball for three passes, but boy are we working hard when we lose it.
  19. ugly tackle to be fair from a tired player
  20. Get Che off. Knackered. And maybe fresh legs in midfield too.
  21. well done Broja. Needed an out ball so badly.
  22. the high line is just an excuse for not bothering to defend free kicks. We've got lucky so many times in previous games. Not this time.
  23. So lazy by Redmond there not getting back to mark Sterling
  24. Lloris likely to sign a new deal at Spurs, which surprises me to be honest. Not a great keeper, but maybe their isn't good/better options available to them. Possibly/probably puts their connection to Johnstone to bed, unless he joins as back up.
  25. He lost his place, but KWP has the shirt now and who knows, will Tino get it back this season? Tino started brilliantly, but he faded and defensively he hasn't convinced me to be honest. He ball watches and positionally he can be suspect. We have looked more solid with KWP at right back. I think it would be a bloody shame to lose KWP.
