a back 10 more like. What a surrender. You'd think it was a non league side up against City, not a team with a £120m wage bill.

nearly all will be northern based Saints fans, who wont be put off.

From 8-0 Sunderland to 0-9 Leicester - a journey of decline
Chez replied to manina-pub's topic in The Saints
Recruitment is everything. If you bring in two or three players that go straight into the first team and improve the side, then you move forward. We buy players that don't get in the side or do, but are worse than what we had before. Multiply that by 5 years and you have 10-15 players that are worse than you had before. Which is exactly what we have. There isn't a player in this side that would get into the side of five or six years ago. The loss of quality at centre half is scary. We have gone from the likes of Fonte, Lovren, Alderweireld and VVD to Vestegaard, Yoshida, Bednerek, Stevens and Danso. It's now difficult to pinpoint who is to blame for this, but is probably the entire board, management, coaching and scouting teams. Add to that, we have failed to develop any more genuine Premiership stars, having sold all of those we did develop. You can't expect to produce a Luke Shaw every other year and Premiership clubs like Chelsea, expanding their reach, seem to be taking the top youth talent that we we previously signing. We have lost ground and that will require new investment and massive improvements or our famed reputation for developing talent will start to become history. -
financial suicide
-
would we have bought better if we had more money to spend, or just wasted more money? Recruitment has been horrific and it's been a while now since a star has come through the academy.
-
they only sell them because ****s buy them. Same with the terrible shirts, overpriced tickets, refreshments.
-
more like a Sunderland...close to relegation for several years and then...
-
the problem is every single player we have in the squad does those little things worse than the players we used to have here five years ago. First touches are worse, body positions, pace, anticipation, strength...the list goes on and now to add to that collectively the team's confidence looks shot too.
-
that is one of the worst pieces of team defending i have seen for many years. Absolute fecking ****e...no, hang on I spoke too soon.
-
would be surprised if there are a few less of the bestest attending **** park tonight. Come on the Imps.
-
Possibly. They may have given up with actual paid journalists and just publish articles sent in by the public. Not a great deal of difference in quality between this and the garbage Allen et al produce so hard to say.

You find the strangest things being sold on the interweb

Small world. I used to go and watch them every now and then with my Grandad when I visited. Sadly he passed last year, so I doubt I will ever make the trip up to Harrogate again or watch them. I continue to check their results though. They've won the last four or five I think? Will you go and cheer them on against the saktes? Lovely part of the world.

Conference Premier Harrogate town in the FA cup. Town have a decent side this year and they are in great form. Decent chance of an upset I'd say.
-
just have to hope they keep struggling on with Jacket. Not sure he will last the week though.

the antique no self respecting fan could be without.

Disney is floodinq them with so much cash that they are having to sell off the crown jewels.

It's painful watching this side. Almost every player is worse than what we had five years ago. The spine of the side is weak. CM is so average its not true. JWP walks into the side. That says it all to me. Pompey born Mason Mount on the front cover of the Saints programme. Someone at Bishops Printers is having a laugh at our expense.

Interesting that Ronan Curtis has slated the skates fans on twitter today: "...could have done with the 12th man today"
-
He never does. did he not enjoy his time here or is he narked because we didn't give him any special clap when he came back to play against us? I've heard him a fair bit on the radio and the way he describes games, it's as though he has never played the game before in his life. He goes into great detail about tactics and seems incredibly thorough, but the long and short of it is that he talks absolutely utter ********. As an ex Saint I want to agree with his theories and dissections, but pretty much every time I just shake my head and disagree completely. Of course it could be me that doesn't know his arse from his elbow, and the fact he was a professional footballer for so long severely weakens my position, however if he offered his services as a coach to my five a side team I'd have to decline it. He's ****ing clueless. The worst radio co-commentator out there IMO and there's some beauties.

Hope we go on to win the League Cup so it wasn't just four nothing.

Ings joins Steve Moran as a Saints legend, with special mention to the Saints fan at the front of the Fratton End
-
Home and away disabled supporters are positioned at the front of the Frattonend as nottarfkrap doesn't have facilities in the away end. So I am guessing yes. Two legends in that image.
-
thought ambulances took you to hospital, not home?
-
well, there's a roof over the Milton end, which you will appreciate if the weather turns. Other than that, not much.
