  1. ‘It’s important work and part of our longer-term strategy for what we have planned for the future of the stadium.' The`turn the ground 90 degrees plan' no longer seems to be the er, plan then.
  2. shall I have proctocolectomy or shall I spend an hour with Bagpuss? One of life's tough choices.
  3. yep, if you are going to do the Cantana dazed and confused, look you have to go all in.
  4. good analysis ozzyman. I wouldnt say negative, just realistic.
  5. 0-5 mins please.
  6. whatmore out for a year, bottle thrown at rovers player, Bogle punches Lockyer, Curtis gives his own fans the vs, fans questioning Jacket...

I'm sure the actual conversation didn't go exactly like this, but who asks: "Do you know them?" "No" "What colour is he?" This will come across as very insensitive, but did he just make this story up in his mind to help him get into character for the movie? I've not seen the movie, so that might be way off the mark. When people say "This is a true story" it makes me wonder why they said it.
  9. not my greatest HCDAJFU recommendation...but quite exciting that is was heeded by the club's management.
  10. despite Vestergaard we still struggled with hoof ball at the end of the game
  11. not feeling this Slattery love at all. I've never seen a player do so little as he did in the last 20 minutes. Was must have been blowing out his arse because he hardly bloody moved. Our midfield disappeared and he was a major part of that.I have no idea why he was not subbed. Sorry. I am doing nothing but moan on here, but thats two Burnley trips in a row where we have been by far and a way the better side for large chunks but failed to get the win. Gutted.
  12. after the Austin signing you'd of thought we'd never touch an injury prone player again. No after Delgado...no after David Hurst...
  13. I was thinking exactly this. JWP got the gig. JW ****ing Prowse. Only a foot shorter. It's right up there with our shape from our own corners. These guys are meant to be professionals, meticulously preparing and trying to squeeze every last percent. Tell me what Sunday league side wouldn't identify their biggest treat at corners and not try and nullify it with their best header of a ball?
  14. concise and accurate post.
  15. Shane Long was woeful in the last five minutes. Keep the ball, run into the corners, eat time. No. Lose it cheaply several times allowing pressure to build. Slattery was also a problem. He is either lazy or not fit. He simply walked around during the last ten minutes. What a bloody waste. Fuming. That last few minutes could make all the difference in the run in.
  16. shame we could not shift unwanted players permanently. The current manager is hamstrung by his predecessors (and the scouting team) buying ****e. Sadly, unlike the big guys we can't simply `wipe our mouths, take a hit and move on'. We have to work our way out of this hole over a longer period of time. Far from ideal. I seem to recall saying before the window opened that I doubted we would sign anyone. Our wage bill is ****ing massif and the reason we don't have a huge surplus of cash to pay for transfers. We need to get that down, then we can increase the fees we pay.
  17. disliked because he joined us, and/or joining Spurs
  18. to be fair, they have needed a new striker pretty much from the moment they bought benteke
  19. we got a £1.2m loan fee when he went to brum (and we wanted £2m) plus his wages were paid in full (and more).
  20. teams that are set up well and sit deep are going to pose us real problems. We lack quality technical players that can unlock teams and wing backs like Targett simply are not good enough to pose half decent fullbacks a problem. Cant fault our effort, but we lack guile.
  21. spot on. we were terrible so to salvage a point was fantastic.
  22. open top is my preference. Perhaps an old Leyland Titon rather than some modern design.
  23. I am mindful of Harry Kane going out on koan loads of times and never really setting the world on fire and then bam, gets his chance, takes a pot shot from long range, it goes in, confidence flows and then the rest is history. Could that happen with Sam? Does he have that quality to his game?
