This will come across as very insensitive, but did he just make this story up in his mind to help him get into character for the movie? I've not seen the movie, so that might be way off the mark. Shane Long was woeful in the last five minutes. Keep the ball, run into the corners, eat time. No. Lose it cheaply several times allowing pressure to build. Slattery was also a problem. He is either lazy or not fit. He simply walked around during the last ten minutes. What a bloody waste. Fuming. That last few minutes could make all the difference in the run in.

teams that are set up well and sit deep are going to pose us real problems. We lack quality technical players that can unlock teams and wing backs like Targett simply are not good enough to pose half decent fullbacks a problem. Cant fault our effort, but we lack guile.

I am mindful of Harry Kane going out on koan loads of times and never really setting the world on fire and then bam, gets his chance, takes a pot shot from long range, it goes in, confidence flows and then the rest is history. Could that happen with Sam? Does he have that quality to his game?
