  1. JWP in a central midfield two is laughable.
  2. Not my intention, just making sure his total ineptness today doesn't go unoticed. He has been woeful and no just today. These players are not good enough. I have said it all season whilst most just seem to think it's MP that loses games every week.
  3. Why on earth did we take lemina off and play JWP in the middle. No where near good enough to fill that role
  4. Cedric **** again. Everything he has done so far has been absolutely ****.
  5. Hoedt booked. No worse than shelvey challenge. Everything is,annoying me right now. Everything.
  6. How is that not a yellow for shelvey?
  7. Cedric is terrible. Why does he get such a pass on here?
  8. Not a single chance created from this 'talented' bunch of players. It's same **** side that couldn't win a game in the second half of last season not helped by the monotonous tactics
  9. this. Embarrassing how we set ourselves up from our own corners
  10. nah, we will come back and win.
  11. Load of **** from Cedric.
  12. Redmond was decent last week.
  13. I know it will make me sound like a Luddite, but why can't hwe play 442 from the start. It looked effective last week when we moved to it in the second half. That said perhaps he will keep it tight early on and move to it later as the game opens up. Another question Why bring JWP back into the starting line up. he was woeful at Burnley. Is it in a hope of controlling possession early on? Excited, nervous and still up beat. I think we will win.
  14. There isn't a great deal of confidence on their side if my Geordie mates are anything to go by. I thought the saints players really gave it their ll in the second half last week and the squad looks pretty united to me. If they can take that desire and effort from the second half into this game then we have a decent chance. Our situation is perilous, but they usually give us some hope at least...
  15. it really doesn't matter now, but Crouch sub was made at half time, so wouldn't add any time and both Saints and Stoke made a sub at the same time on the hour, so that makes it just three stoppages in the second half.
  16. you want to play all three of those centre forwards at the same time? Not sure I understand your comment about JWP. Is it the lack of quality of crossing from Tadic, Redmond, Cedric and Bartrand?
  17. Perhaps everyone is like you, waiting for someone else to show the courage of their conviction and start a song? Personally I was too engrossed in the game to be thinking about protest songs. The second half efforts also left me feeling the players gave everything. Lemina for example was out in his feet before the end. Did I want to boo that? The feeling was more gutted than anger

    Redmond

Didn't do a great deal in the first half. Tried to link up with Bertrand and they did manage to create a couple of openings, but overall I thought Sims movement on the other side showed how stationary and lethargic Redmond was. Second half was a different story. He beat men and was a threat, even on the left. When we went 4-4-2 he and Sims made it work. You could not ask for a lot more other than better quality and power to his curling shot. When he moved to the right he showed exactly what fans have been so annoyed with him about. He collected the ball just inside his own half and his first thought is to stop and look for support and the safer option. As a winger in a 433 I don't ever want to see that. In a 4-4-2 you perhaps need to be more cautious. On this occasion the support wasn't there so he continued down the line. Still no support so he had no option now but to attack and having got to the byeline he put in an absolute beauty of a cross that Boufal should have buried. Thats what fans want. Get the ball and dribble it down the line. Go forward. First thought, can I take the full back on? Forget keeping possession, go for it. It goes without saying that he should play on the right side. If we are playing two up front it becomes a no brainer. The question is will MP go 442 and who will he play in those wide roles.
  19. a fraction harsh, has won 40% of headers. Austin 44%. Thought he won quite a few yesterday, but importantly completely missed the headed chance in the first half from a decent Cedric cross from the byeline. I was square on and only seen it once, but despite the defender in front missing it, which perhaps surprised him, I thought he should have got his head on it and if he had he would probably have scored. Overall I thought his link up play over the last two games has been ok, but he looks a little jack of all trades, master of none at this point. Is there a chance that all that time on the Monico bench has made him rusty, because he doesn't look like he is going to score at the moment. I guess it's early days, but boy does he and we need a goal soon.
  20. Very typical saints display in the first half. Lots of possession and absolutely no ability to use it to open up the opponent. A lack of quality was best summed up when Sims miscontrolled a throw in, deep in their half, which lead to him going backwards and eventually to McCarthy. An erosion in quality is subtle. Tiny things all add up to us not creating chances and scoring goals. The second half was much better. We created two half chances with one up front, but when we when 4-4-2 we were far more effective. We started to drag their centre halves all over the place and looked a real threat. MP has selected almost everyone to play behind the striker, but his major failing in not trying different formations. It made such a difference today. You have to ask the question, why has he not tried this earlier, tried different formations, been more flexible? I thought Redmond was decent in the second half. He beat men and caused problems on both wings. When moved to the right he put in a beauty of ball for Boufal's chance having got the byeline. Need to see much much more that. Thought Lemina had another great game, the two centre backs were also good. The distribution from both was top draw. Cedric struggled and made some poor decisions. Tadic and Sims were largely ineffective. Tadic started brightly but disappeared. Sims movement was great, but when he broke free he failed to take advantage of the 2 on 1 chance. Carrillo worked hard and won a lot in the air against two big CBs. Just needs to show more in front of goal.
  21. one was made at half time, and two were made at same time. so I guess thats two minutes.
  22. Genuine question. If we had kept Poch and Nic Nak was still in charge somehow paying players top six wages, do you think players would have stayed? Or would the lure of the big club been too much. I guess, kind of like the current Spurs situation, only its us, who are less glamorous than Spurs.
  23. I'd say it does. If the big six want a player, they get them. You usually hear about it too, because players don't allow a top six club offer to pass them by without putting pressure on the club to sell. The top six haven't come in for any of those players. Lemina and possibly Bertrand apart they wont this summer either. No doubt you will say Cedric has been chased by Barca. My reply would be, has he ****. That's simply his agent placing stories to help get a bumper new contract for his client.
  24. the fact he was deemed not fit enough by Klopp to play for them straight away shows how little effort he put in during the last few months.
  25. Always looks good to me. Has he had many bad games?
