I thought the lib dems only agreed to form a coalition if they were given the PR referendum. What exactly did the Cons give them in the end as I don't recognise a single lib dem policy to date.
-
what ever happened to PR? I thought that is what the lib dems wanted a referendum on? How have we found ourselves voting on the adoption of AV?
-
would you bet on the other two winning all of their four?

any of those lads locally born or based? Congratulations to all of them. Even making that grade is something very special indeed. Hope they all go on to great things with one or two perhaps sticking around if they do!

Fonte: Chamberlain should stay, for now.

will this supposed Arsenal move be allowed by the Arsenal top brass? I mean they continue to fail to win anything and I just wonder if buying yet another top class youngster will be acceptable when thw fans are demanding some world class senior pros? -
both appear to be struggling with minor injuries so its who is fittest really.

look no further.

Martin has done ok, but he doesn't win headers like Jaidi, doesn't have the ball skills of Seaborne and doesn't have the Carvalho limpet style marking of a Fonte. Cover fine, but first choice?
-
is this player regularly beaten in the air by anyone over 6 foot? Decent footballer, but IMO we went down from the CCC because we had too many centre backs that were short and weak in the air. We need a brute like Jaidi (who would have kept us up despite the nippers being played) not some `after you sir' nice guy. Sorry, but as much as I like his ability to bring the ball out from the back I worry that Grant Holt types will take the **** next season. I said it throughout Chris Perry's career here that he was one of the main reasons we struggled. You need a giant that can win headers without time to prepare your leap. A CB who won't be outmuscled, who sets their position in stone and make strikers foul them or attempt to win headers from the less optimial positions. Seaborne is not that man and never will be. I have no problem having Seaborne as reserve for Fonte, but certainly not his partner.

I thought the players played football rather than ran football clubs. By the way being very good at a sport doesn't mean you are a good coach, good tactician or good talent spotter. A pro brought Tony Pulis to the club. I wonder if Mourinho's thoughts on tactics/players were laughed at by pros at one point?

er, 27 starts and 8 sub appearances in the league, 2 starts and 2 sub appearances in the FA cup, one start and one sub in the league cup and a sub appearance in the JPT. If my maths is correct that's 30 starts and 11 subs appearances. So 41 games. He's scored 9 goals by the way. I'm not sure if you (or whoever else is unhappy with his inclusion) have seen much of the lad, but let me tell you there is no hype, he is the real deal. Amazing first touch, pace, tricks, two feet, crossing ability, powerful shot, can tackle, works hard, composure and vision of a central midfielder. He has run some fullbacks absolutely ragged this year and any praise coming his way is fully justified. Jones perhaps deserved to be included, but there is nothing to say that Alex shouldn't have been selected ahead of Bennett, who I know has had a very good season too, who has scored 8 in 49 I believe this season. Alex might be injured now, but that doesn't devalue his performances. Congratulations on promotion by the way. We are all envious. Brilliant job and for all those fans that continued to follow you even during the darkest days this is no more than they deserve. Hopefully we can make it up as well.

I guess the promotion campaign is hanging by a thread again?

If West Brom stay up is he going to get a game? Are West Brom going to loan him to a League 1 side again? Is Chris Morgan past it? I always thought he'd be perfect alongside a class player like Fonte. Oh and I'd happily take Mark Yeates off United's hands. One last thing if anyone bleats about the merits of taking Tyson on a free from Forest let me just say that he is gash. Ernie is a better bet in my book, but he's far too expensive. If we have real cash to spend lets buy McGugan. Class player.

I gave him 10 out of 10 for his display at Orient and I give 5 out of ten for an OK performance. He was outstanding, coming for pretty much everything and catching everything cleanly (one tremendous punch that sailed towards half way). When fans moan at him for not controlling his area I often grimace and think, yeah I guess you might have a point, but I don't think you can say that about him recently. Also does any other keeper even get remotely close to him when it comes to covering our back four. His decision making off his line has been amazing this year. I think he has got it wrong twice. Considering the number of times he is called into action due to Jaidi not having the pace, I think that figure is superb.

Saints 1 V 0 Bristol Rovers, post match sighs of relief..

I agree with some of your points. I thought there was a period in the second half when we started to go long and looked a bit desperate, but that was only a short phase and it might have been Connelly coming on, it might not, but we recomposed ourselves and got it down and were extremely patient despite the groaning crowd. FFS when we play it backwards to keep possession that is actually a good thing. I'd much rather we went backwards and kept the ball than whack it long in hope. We did this to great effect and the continuous possession created pressure which eventually told. Over the last month or so we have been extremely professional. Maybe not playing great, but solid and trying to do the right things. Guly was woeful in the first half. He does not look happy at right midfield (you are right ion the hole is his position - but Lambert plays there!). He doesn't know where to stand, where to move to, how much work to do. He is a liability defensively. I would say he was lazy. Look at how bad Butterfield played. How many times his passes were intercepted. The reason for that was the total lack of effort by Guly to make himself available. What he does have is quality at times and that's why Forte went off and not him and he will always have a goal up his sleeve. I disagree with you also abut Stephens. OK is not the term I'd use to describe his first half display. Complete and utter **** would be more in line. Woeful, poor, not good enough are other phrases. He improved in the second, well he certainly made very few mistakes (unlike the first half) but he still didn't really grab the game and run it. Hammond had a decent game for me. Average them out and you get an OK I suppose! Connelly is class, but can he shine as he did on Saturday for the whole 90 minutes. It's a lot easier to stand out when opponents are tired. Great to have him back. Really missed him and have been annoyed at the number of people on here giving him stick for being injured and devaluing how good he was last season. -

He doesn't have an anti-manager agenda, he just likes to introduce some unorthodox thinking to the proceedings, albeit, in the case of Lambert in midfield, a somewhat ill thought out idea IMHO. Lambert is the slowest player in the side. To see him trying to go up and down the pitch for 90 minutes would be painful. Having said that Stephens could not have impressed me less so far. -
genuine question this: has he? `Great' or good? He's certainly a great League 1 CB. The best out there I'd say. I'm keen to know how each player would/will fair if/when we go up
-
I'm amazed there are still Saints fans that don't appreciate Davis. Yes he makes the odd mistake, but compared to the other keepers at this level he is bloody brilliant. His kicking is so improved, his command of the area better, he comes for more crosses than ever before, he is a terrific sweeper and he makes some great saves. I haven't seen a keeper in League 1 that can touch him. In the window there was so much talk about Lewis and yet he has been embaressing over the last two months.

likewise, and as with Bournemouth my feeling for Brigton is: meh.

Dog, a mate of mine had the exact same situation a few years back and I'm afraid you ex partner has a right to a percentage of the house as he has paid a percentage of the mortgage. Absolutely no chance of you getting away with just saying `on your bike'. Get legal advice, but be prepared for handing over a wedge of cash. The offer of staged payments sounds a very good one. You could be faced with a single bill or be forced to sell the house shoukd he take you to court.

I'm not sure I've come across a manager that moans as much as him.
-
I was going to pick up on that as well. What a ****ing moaning bastard that little twerp is. Listen to Dave Jone's comments "He butted him simple as that." and it just makes Cotterill look like a sap. These managers just hide behind refs decisions. They ought to have a look at the mistakes their players are making not to mention the mistakes they make themselves.
