I don't rate Holmes at all, and given what little I have actually seen of Forte he looks like a pacey striker not a winger to me. In light of the Chamberlain quotes today it looks like cover for Lallana is less important than finding a right winger.

no arguements with that, you can't hold players these days for ever, but like Lyon do, we need to make use of the talent for just long enough to get us to where we want to be. If Alex is sold before this season starts then we have missed out on using his talents to get us there. It's all very well saying replace him, but who exactly is there out there (willing to play in the championship) that can touch this lad? If we had sold him for £10m and replaced him with Pilkington then I think I'd of shrugged my shoulders and said we'd done reasonably OK out of it under the circumstances (still disappointed mind you). But I don't see too many Pilkingtons out there, and he went straight to the Premiership anyway.

I like it. Much prefer it to last years. I like the red socks and the white long sleeves with red wrist bands look nice. The stripey socks of recent years have been terrible. Are the shorts black (they look it) or the navy we used to have? Would prefer the latter.
