He utilised pace when Obermars and then Henry were in the side. Theo's pace was certainly utilised earlier in the season. Liverpool might be Alex's best bet. Hopefully we can convince him to stay a few more seasons, but how do you do that?

I have little doubt that it will be included in next season's ticket price rise

There was absolutely zero pressure from the Chamberlain family for a move in January. He never ever was going to move in the window no matter who offered money, so I don't see his non movement as any great coup by Cortese. If he stays in the summer then that is different and full credit must go to the guy (should genuine offers be made) and should he sign an extension then you won't hear a word on this subject from me for some time. One question. Could you expand on the term adequately replaced? For example was Graham Le Saux (lined up for the same time as exit) an adequate replacement for Wayne Bridge? IMO Le Saux (and I thought so at the time not just afterwards) was a poor replacement, but the majority at the time would probably have suggested it was an `adequate' replacement. Le Saux was a flop, largely injured and woefully short of pace that was exposed on a regular basis. I think what I am trying to say is that `adequate' is such an `average' word. Could you not stretch to something like, potentially as good or suchlike?

I actually thought he wasn't neat and tidy and that is fundamental to centre midfield play. Only a fool writes off a new signing after only four or 5 appearances, but if I was a scout that had watched those games I wouldn't recommend him to Saints.
-
Harding, Dickson, Mills, Stephens and now Shaw. Saints are leftbacktastic.
-
we didn't buy/steal him from Newcastle though.
-
b'stard, you got there first. One of the worst players I've seen in the top flight and one I have ridiculed for yonks. Amazed anyone would suggest him on a HCDAJFU thread unless of course we'd dropped down to league 2.

I fancy moving across a little from block 34 row as I'm sat with some right chumps, that sounds perfect for me. What block, row and seat numbers are you talking about roughly?
-
love the fella despite the move to manure. He stood out in that relegated Leeds side and would add some real bite and plenty of quality too.
-
Wolves v Baggies yesterday suggests not.

and it's a bloody long time till Sep 1st as well.
-
Wigan as I've not been to their ground.
-
his best game by far was away at Dagenham & Redbridge- you couldn't find a more kick and rush side if you tried.
-
Aaron Martin is out of contract.
-
considering how fit Chambelain looked I'm surprised he wasn't on the bench for the two games over the bank holiday weekend.
-
good shout. Powerful, bullies defenders and gets right in the danger areas that perhaps Lambert doesn't. Not sure he has the legs to do Lambert's running.

the pitch invasion was excellent. It used to be a tradition at the Dell, so nice to see it again.

so long as Tal Hiem stays that's all that matters.

Pompey took 2266 to Coventry 888 to Leeds 1203 to Doncaster. 1170 to Millwall. 1007 to Norwich 781 to Barnsley 470 to Boro 1489 to Palace 1023 to Derby 1115 to Watford 1500 to Scunny Any use?

and Millwall released Omar Beckles, Adam Bolder, Gary Alexander, Danny Fitzsimons, Dan ****tu and Ali Fuseini and they brought in Tamika Mkandawire, Shaun Batt, Liam Trotter, James Henry, Danny Schofield, Josh McQuoid, Theo Robinson, Darren Purse and Hameur Bouazza. Plus loans Craig Eastmond, Andros Townsend and Kevin Lisbie and quite a few of them are first teamers as the line up against Preston shows: Forde Purse, Mkandawire, Barron, Ward, Dunne , Trotter McQuoid Henry Townsend, Marqui
-
they got rid of loads of players that helped them go up: Kelly, Stephens, Doherty, McVeigh, Theokolotis, Whaley, Stefanovic, Spillane, Renton, Lathrope, Wiggins, Cureton and Russell and then they brought in quite a lot: Jackson, Surman, Lansbrey, Ruddy, Crofts, Fox, Smith and Ward and then added Wilbraham, Tierney, Barnet and Edwards. Vokes and Pacheto came in the winter. That's 27 changes to the squad and the players coming in were of great quality and have been first teamers. The skate game line up shows this: Ruddy Ward, Whitbread, Tierney, Martin, Crofts, Surman, Fox, Hoolahan, Jackson, Holt

bloody hope so. The amount of space between home and away fans at our place is embaressing and not needed.

skate mate of mine just moved up to Stamford, so wear those shirts chaps as it will annoy the **** out of him.

always thought Semedo was worth taking on and have suggested him in every window for a couple of years, but in the recent game against us he wasn't as dominant and his passing left a lot to be desired. Still quite young though. Racon looked decent against us in that game.
