he's very dent at this level, but it took him quite a lot of matches to get match fit and effective last season, I'd say about seven, so even if he returns to the first team squad we won't see him back to his best as he won't get games to get his sharpness back. In the end it was a gamble in the summer by Pardew that has not paid off for us.

how about Adlène Guedioura or Geoffrey Mujangi Bia from Wolves. Guedioura just returned to first team training after breaking his leg. Bia has played a couple of times for the first team but is only 21.

even if it stayed the same (wage bill wise) then Lallana and Chaplow will have eaten into that. Are crowds down on last year too? Mind you ticket tax and higher ticket prices will even that out.

I know the game was dead, but I liked the look of Forte when he came on. He didn't achieve a great deal, but he looked quick, was busy, strong and showed a decent touch. Bearing in mind we have him for three years these are positive signs IMO

yes but it's those reasons that we will all want to know. Was it down to Pardew or Cortese? It's perhaps not the time, but if we don't go up there is a real danger that some of our best players leave, and if they do, we may emulate our rapid fall from grace from the Championship having lost quality like Baird, Bale, Jones and Guthrie. Don't think that I'm screaming like a girl, as I'll take Saints in whatever league, but if we want a quick route back to the top flight this is a huge, huge season, and this run in has to be attacked with everything we have got and perhaps haven't yet loaned in. I'm all for a streamline squad, but a Danny Guthrie now could make all the difference.

if the worst does happen, have you mind up you mind as to the reasons why we didn't get promoted, or will you take the line of `that's football'? This board is going to be ugly. Promotion is a must.
