lovely cross from Sugawara. Great save or it would have been all square.
-
lovely finish. Come on Saints.

Unlucky for him, but he was struggling to handle Gakpo pace, so the change might help us.
-
we look like we have zero confidence. Tough times.
-
we have no idea how to press. Not a clue. We used to be good at that. A long time ago now, but we have to get that back.
-
got to match up formation wise so players can get closer and show some bite. Right now we have three centre backs standing around waiting to do something while the rest pick up the slack. Time to show some bottle, and get some pressure on players. It will probably just end up with Gakpo running rings around Bree, but we have nothing to lose. Sitting back parking the bus at 0-2 is gonna get us nowhere.
-
agree. 3 guys marking one striker, which means they have two spare men all the time. How can we put any pressure on them unless the fullback push up...which they don't as they are making the two wingers. It's not working. It never seems to work for us really.
-
Its most definately five at the back. We have attempted and failed to park the bus... 3 centre backs, yet they still have acres of space to score. Not just their fault though. Gakpo far too quick for Bree, which brings others to him creating space elsewhere. Much prefer four at the back and more pressure on the ball in midfield.

I thought Darren Moore left because he wanted an `average' championship salary and the chairman didn't want to offer that? With that in mind, I can't see Rohl being paid a hue wage, maybe £500,000 a year? If that was the case, he'd have to a have ten year contract for the compensation to be in the £10m realm (assuming his staff made up the other £5m).

This is the hardest spot the difference I have ever played.

According to Google he's the fella that refused to speak to Ajax.

What situations can the fans accept with the new manager?
Chez replied to Nolan's topic in The Saints
Remind me. When they appointed Wilder, was it obviously for a run at the championship the following season or was there any Prem life left in them? -
genuinely don't know the senior structure at the club, so who is/are the decision makers when it comes the next manager appointment?
-
If we are after an ex saint, then Djamel Belmadi is no longer the Algerian manager. Plenty of experience, none of it in English football management mind you. Beyond that, there is Pahars of course, back as an assistant of the Latvian national side. I have always liked the cut of Paul Tisdale' jib, now head of football operations at Celtic and personal favourite, Kevin Phillips, manager at National league side AFC Fylde.

The one advantage SR have, is that they have been in a similar position previously two years ago...with an all but relegated side and half a season left in which to save yourself and/or prepare for next season in the championship. They totally fucked it last time, getting the wrong man in, signing a load of shit for far too much money and then having to find another manager to go through the motions of completing the season. Hopefully they learned some valuable lessons.

Still don't understand why we gave him a new contract in the summer. I dont have the stats, but I would imagine a sizeable percentage of managers of promoted clubs don't last the season. We ourselves had Adkins with a huge amount of credit under his belt get the tin tack. Why on earth didn't we sit tight for 6 months and see how the lann lied before giving him a new deal. What was he going to do, leave us for someone else? Who? Unless a contract extension had to be given on promotion, I really don't understand why we did it.

It's a load of bollocks. Players don't need a coach shouting at them all bloody game. If they do then they probably shouldn't be in the side. What would you prefer, Pulis barking out bollocks for 90 minutes, or Clough having a word as and when it is required? Sky loves it. Something extra to show other than the football. Managers love it. They get to be the ringmaster and that visibility and exposure has helped them get seriously paid. Are managers now contractually obliged to stand in the coaching box all game? Or do they just fear that if they are not seen to be coaching fans will think they are passive or don't have clue what to do? If managers were serious about wanting to impact the game, they'd watch it from high in the stands, not pitch side, allowing them to really see what was happening and come up with necessary tactic.

you don't think he cares whether the club he has joined stays up or not?
-
Who was responsible for giving RM a new contract (utter madness) in the summer?
-
Have we ever gone into a game feeling less likely to get a result?
-
I have said all summer that if they come up with £8m, he's theirs, but having signed Simon Banza, I thought Trabzonspor had moved on.
-
Were we able to recall him?
-
Trabzonspor signed my mate Simon Banza, on loan.
-
Like him. Like the signing. But can he really play on the right?
-
Having made, what, 18 signings, I wonder if Forest fans are describing our transfer window as crazy, mental or scattergun? 😉
