  1. Not many people in here, post 64 n a game that is 2-3! Just shows where the FA cup rates with the importance of the league games. If this was a league game I would be peed off..... Or a quarter final!
  2. He is a good manager. Try to move on with the other part.... We have come a long way.
  3. That's the spirit! I can see a 4-3 win. Well that is one bet down!
  4. Cracking game.... Just not for us. They seem to have been injected with life from AP. But better than his last visit!
  5. Also Southend scored, to cancel out the slakes taking the lead!
  6. Palace looking good. They have a lot of confidence!
  7. Just one more for Saints, then that will do!
  8. I only ever bet max £5, but missed out on around £2k. 14 of my 15 had come in and Celtic just had to beat Motherwell at home in the evening. They drew 0-0!
  9. Thank god for that, cringeworthy on ITV sport. Terrible..... How much money. Townsend gone as well, there maybe a god! He can go to BT as no one watches it anyway!
  10. Yep
  11. There support has always been really poor. Such a small place in a valley. So many teams in that small area in the north west and you have Liverpool, Everton, Man U and Man City all close by. Wigan are another one that struggle and Bolton!
  12. The last time we played Palace in the FA Cup, we won the thing! Our record is pretty evening. Games won: 40 Games drawn: 22 Games lost: 34 But won 6 of the last 7 against them.
  13. I spent the evening with him and Dodd and a group of my friends, in the old Saints social club at the Dell, in 1998, he also lied to me and said the company was brilliant. I also used to serve him and Simon Charlton before this in the early to mid 90's at Pizzaland. They used to come in after training nearly every week.
  14. Should have been quicker
  15. If anyone lets me down I hope it is Spurs. No, line, hook or sinker here, just more fun to play along.
  16. They can still have that ice cream if they so wish! They can also have dinner, clothes and heating!
  17. If everyone took every thread as personal or related it to a personal issue in their lives, then many threads would be deleted. Ok there are some very sad cases of gambling the are very serious, but I do sensible bets for fun. Nothing serious. I too know someone who has lost a lot through gambling, but as last checked it is not illegal to make a bet.
  18. That is what I said. Went to both, but not the Man U game. Also went to the Luton game. Was the 2nd season that I went to all home games and started doing a few away. QPR and Chelsea, where Matty scored in both. No everything about the games from 88- to the end of the 90 season, like they were yesterday.
  19. No they are not silly.... Hmmm
  20. I have also not betted my house on these games, you will note it is £5, which is less than many household spend on the many lottos out the. Come to to think of it, you spend more on a pint and a half or a pack of cigarettes. Stop moaning!
  21. Well I did have a bet on Saints. There are some FA Cup games and we are in the FA Cup still. Like the other Saturday's/Sunday game threads when we are not playing..... They stay in here.
  22. That match against Liverpool below in 1989 was the first were I remember seeing Matty have a great game in a great team performance. Up front was Shearer, Matty, Rideout and Rod Wallace and we just went at them! On another day they would have picked us off! The week before we went to QPR and won by the same score line.... http://www.11v11.com/matches/southampton-v-liverpool-21-october-1989-89455/
  23. Well here is my accumulator. I never have Saints on there as we always seem to screw up. When we lost to Sheffield United I had a 6 team accumulator and Saints let me down. That's the latest of many. I have the below and a single for Saints though 3-2. Any of you lot have an accumulator? These are ALL home teams. 10 Fold Accumulator(s) @ 47.58/1 Manchester City Chelsea Derby Sunderland Tottenham Watford Shrewsbury Wolves MK Dons Barnet Stake £5.00 Potential Returns £242.90
  24. First I remember was the opening day of the 88/89 season when he came on as a sub against West Ham late on. He scored a pretty good goal late on, in a 4-0 win. This start to the season also saw us hit the summit for the last time in top flight, as we went on to beat QPR away 0-1, Luton home 2-1 before visiting Arsenal while we were top of the table. We were 2-0 up before being pegged back in the 81st minute and the 9th minute of injury time (due to a broken jaw of cockerill. This was the same season we went 21 games without a win, before Ruddock score a pen in injury time at the Dell to beat Newcastle 1-0. Was a strange season, but Matty was in and out of it all season. Was also the first season I went to every game at home.
