  1. It is really good to hear, but most players seem to prefer the money, to playing every week and this is where we lose out. Of course football players careers could end with one serious injury, so they need to secure the best contracts and deals, but I do feel that the money and prestige is more important than playing for most.
  2. Do not delude yourselves, if Austin had Newcastle or Southampton to choose, Newcatle would still be seen as the 'big' club to go to. Not my opinion but the opinion of most in football. I would love to land Austin, but also Inges would be a fantastic signing.
  3. Terrible! The 'Saints' badge is on the wrong side and to far over.... It is also not our badge!!

  5. We should be looking to get to the stage where we qualify for Europe every year, through our league position. Also a cup run in the FA Cup would be nice. To do this, we need a bigger squad. We have not had a good enough 'squad' for years, if ever since I have been watching a Saints. Of course, this is not easy, as it is catch 22, as we need to keep qualifying for Europe, for players to want to come to the club and be in a position to have great cover on the bench, without them wanting to clear off. If we can do this, we can then look at Champions League. If we wanted to go to the next level, I feel we would need a Man City/Chelsea investment.
  6. All about the money, not the football!
  7. I would not worry to much..... There was plenty of room the last away game in Europe! Not many people can drop everything and travel in the UK let alone Eastern Europe! Even more so with 1 weeks notice! There is also the expense!
  8. This is great news, but I cannot help think.... If only we got 2 more points!
  9. I think apartheid from the seeded part of the draw, the rest is pretty random. This means the home or away leg could be on the 30th July.... Now I am hoping the away leg is first, as I am in Morocco on holiday from the 1st until 8th August!
  10. There is no way I am not going this time. Last time I did not go and we went out straight away. I have to see Saints in Europe, as I never have and I am 40! Bring it on, anyone will do!

Gas hob with 6 burners. Double fan electric oven!
  12. A pizza hooker!!
  13. I'm in the Netherlands for this one. The home of our leader!
  14. Yep, I was on the pitch when that goal went in, from the Archers Road row 1. What a day!
  15. City with nothing to play for..... Looking good!
  16. It is important that we keep it tight though. As it stands, we have the joint best premier league defence. It would be fantastic to have the best defence over the whole season. Something else to aim for at the weekend. Keep a clean sheet and you never know.
  17. Did not realise how lucky I was at the time. 1988/89 was the first season I went to every home game. He came on as a sub and scored a great goal in the opening game of the season in a 4-0 home win over the hammers. The the seasons that followed I was going home and away.... Great times and apart from the individual skill and talent on show, only this season and last have come near as good, just without an outstanding individual and more a team effort.
  18. But I think we will only need a draw for 6th and city a point to secure 2nd!
  19. I think we could get a point in this game and grab 6th. Depends where Man City are. If City win today and Man U and Arsenal draw, then 2nd place is theirs. It is their last game of the season in front of there crowd though. Really does depend on a lot of things and which City side turn up. We can only hope it is the one that turned up for Hull at home and not QPR!
  20. Most premier league players are 'buff' to be fair! They cannot all be skins!
  21. I like it.... It will not change my life.
  22. But they would have been raving about it, if it was a Man U, Arsenal or Liverpool player. Yes they are right it was a mixture of both, but still a hat-trick in 2.5 minutes!
  23. What does annoy me slightly, is that if this was a Man U, Liverpool or Arsenal play, MOTD would have made a huge thing about it. It is massive, but went on about being gifted by Villa. Mane still had to put the ball in the net. There are many defensive errors that do not lead to the ball ending up in the net.
  24. Also one of the houses we like, backs onto a nature reserve. 5 bedroom, one study, huge kitchen and garden and one ensuite £250k. Pop that in Royston where we live currently and you would be looking at at least half a million! My wife has a job as a secondary school teacher up here already and I am hoping to work remotely with a drive down to the office one week a month. Exciting times. Also looks like Newcastle and Sunderland may stay up and maybe Middlesbrough might go up. There are 3 'away' games right there for me!
  25. It is very nice up here. I am up here with the family this weekend, house hunting. Looked at 10 yesterday and we have 1 to look at today. We have a top 3 that we need to whittle down to the one to make an offer on. We have been up here a lot as the sister-in-law lives up here and we have found that the weather changes very quickly, from sunny to pouring with rain, back to sunny.... Even more so than down south!
