I'm not getting this... Maynard going to a Premiership team, Hooper staying at Champions league club Celtic and Sharp is still a target according to the mirror. So what's the point? If we get sharp for £1.5 million everyone will hail Cortese as a genius... And as for this complete and utter nonsense that we're a little bit off the beaten track in footballing terms? How many people have been gushing about our facilities and set up? And we're an hour or so away from London? jeez...

I think we're a few years away from that sort of thing... The fact the youngsters are being blooded in cup games is a positive step but we're we're quite some distance away from doing that... I think both camps have a point here, we do need to strengthen. One of the major pluses we had was a strong bench, yesterdays game, and most games we've lost funnily enough, had a weak bench with no impact players that can change games. We just need to get the right players, not the right now players, otherwise we've learnt nothing from the Lowe years. How many players did we buy cheaply, never use and then give away? Let's not ever repeat that...

And in a week where a football club that overspent is faced a wind up order, you'd think we'd be a bit more careful...

The problem we have is that we need to buy better than what we've got.... And with that in mind those clubs that have those players don't want to let them go... You want quality, it's not as easy as some people seem to think...

As someone who follows Celtic as my team north of the border, you're a grade A ****... The point you seem to be missing is that we can afford him and you probably can't. There will come a time when like Rangers, Celtic will struggle finacially when you continually fail to win big games in the Champions league. You call us is respectful and then show absolutely no respect to a club that healthy, solvent and has money. The fact that a Championship club can challenge you for players either shows how far we've come or how low you've sunk.. If you're going to come on here and slate Saints for daring to try and take a player off, do your research, Walcott is one of many players we've produced here, Le Tissier, Bale, Shearer to name just a few. In fact there's probably about 11 players in the Premier League who have all come through the ranks at Southampton... In the meantime all you've just done is make Saints fans think Celtic are small time and generally making enemies where there are none... Bravo, well done... What a **** you are...

And if there was any level of violence involved you have a point, but this is in regards to words, not actions. Or do fat people or ginger people not feel anything when they're insulted? Gaybashing doesn't come into this in the slightest,...

The problem I have with this is where do you draw the line? Homophobic chanting is obviously wrong but aren't the police effectively saying that insulting the gay community is wrong but insulting fat people or ginger people is ok.. You can't single out one social group and say they can't have chants aimed at them but this group can... Tricky...
