This is not going to be a popular view but I am coming to the conclusion he is a bit of a liability and I am surprised NC/MP went for him knowing he has this weakness in his game. He has skill for sure but so far his bad points outweigh his good and if he did spit in the guy's face not sure I want him at Southampton.

Nick you would be better browsing your local Waterstones. It is expensive but it is lavishly put together at a cost of £55000 and weights 2.3kgs. I am convinced it is good value. Cheers

I never have moments of weakness, my lips are sealed but both Rally Boy and I agreed this saga has way to go and my prediction was that McInnes would resign within three months was considered a good shout - even by Matt. For me our performance of the season. Very proud to be a saints fan yesterday we showed grit and flair in equal measures. Cork could not have worked harder, he was superb. And we started and finished with three English teenagers on the pitch.

I am glad but a tad surprised Morph is so grateful. The Liebherr group got a bargain at 14m and now own something worth 300m. Fair play to them Cortese spotted a bargain.... or was it Andrew Oldknow. Meanwhile the fans own nothing but their heritage and the city owns nothing but the hoped for inheritance. Interesting night tonight at Waterstones with Mick Channon and Terry Paine (not to forget Brian O'Neil) - the city and the community ultimately own the soul of SFC and while the bricks and mortar might be under the control of someone who cares not about tradition, in the end it will be our children and our children's children who will reclaim our club for our city. Heavy stuff I know but after listening to two legends tonight explain what SFC means to them, then I can't help the philosophy.

Feedback such as this is most welcome, especially after the disappointment at the club changing its mind about selling it from their outlets. I feel it is the best we have done but it won't reach all fans due to it not being available at the stadium. A real shame

If we had someone who could finish like the bloke who hit their third we would have won by a hatful tonight. Too much trying to walk the ball into the net and also at the other end too much fiddle faddle. Sometimes we give almost suicidal passes to players facing the wrong way with an attacker breathing down their necks and either concede possession (that's how they got their 2nd) or hoof it into touch.

Just to clarify a few things for the benefit of my stalker Once Bitterne The idea to arrange a launch with the ex-Saints was conceived about three years ago between its then secretary Tim Manns and David Bull. It seemed fairly logical as we were both helping each other track down players. It was nothing to do with me. About 3 months ago as David was up to his eyes in editing he asked me to continue with the organisation of the launch. Initially we wanted to have it at Paul Bennett's in Thornhill (East Point) but Mike Thew of the ex Saints, then suggested asking the club as he thought it might be the ideal chance to all unite under one roof. I was aware there could be a conflict with certain individuals but assumed as the launch was not being hosted by the club there wouldn't be a problem. Obviously I was wrong. Prior to Friday night I had never met or spoken to Francis Benali. If anyone thinks I engineered this row on purpose perhaps they should sneak a look at my bank balance - it is the last thing I want. Up to now I have enjoyed the best relationship with the club then ever before but obviously the club now seemingly holds Hagiology to blame for the way things have turned out. Probably in hindsight the only way out of this dilemma would have been to have not had a launch at all but then when we had the book signings that too could have caused a problem. perhaps it would have been better not to have written the book at all. I am very proud of it and it is better by a long chalk than anything previously published. It's a labour of love which sadly has become tarnished.

Um you are very near - it will be the end of hagiology. Recouping the 55,000 pounds is going to be hard work without the help of the club.

I have loads - suffice to say a nicer more approachable man was impossible to meet. I remember dancing with his grand mother in the saloon bar of the Fitzhugh pub around 1975. It is a long story. Probably out of all the Saints players I have known for someone so famous he was the most down to earth and friendly. You should have heard Jim Steele talk about him on Friday last.
