Heard yesterday (from two separate good sources) that Lambert had serious words with NA following the Fulham game. It would certainly explain why he was on the bench yesterday.

Le Tissier: "Cortese is not a nice human being"
Fitzhugh Fella replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Norway Saint - I understand where you are coming from and it is about time some of this was substantiated I agree, but I do think there are possibly legal reasons why certain people are not being more expansive. Over the years there have been plenty of times when I have been dying to post something but without proof etc etc I hesitate. I do think Matt should now put up or shut up and when I see him next I will tell him. He doesn't like NC, fair enough but if he is going to go public then he needs to back it up. Understand the reasoning behind your response. -
Le Tissier: "Cortese is not a nice human being"

Dangerous territory for me but here goes. Simon Peach - imo is a good journalist, an informative tweeter and someone whose opinion I have come to respect. We like it when he tells us "nice" things (Ramirez signing) but not when he tells us "uncomfortable" things, For Christ sake give the guy a break - he just reports what he hears. That is his job. MLT - a straight, honest guy who gave this club plenty and much much more besides. A big fan who loves this club and does so much for charity etc etc etc. He does not like NC. Fair enough he is entitled to his opinion. NC - I have never met him so I can't comment on his personal qualities or personality, I have heard plenty of rumours but he has never done me any harm and has allowed me the privilege of keeping "official historian" status so personally I have no complaints. He has more than delivered in terms of where this club is now compared to where we were when he took over. But he is not God and if Matt wants to criticise and Simon wants to report it, let's just accept that and let's not shoot the messenger or his source. Life is full of people who do not get on the trouble is people on this forum turn every development into a contest of who is right and who is wrong. -
What was it that made his Dad leave Spain for the UK?

Agree 100%, while the morons are not properly punished then this sort of thing will continue
-
Yes it is starting to look increasingly like that and I now think it impossible for the FL to hand the baton to Chanrai so Micah Hall's probing tipped the scales and has ensured liquidation. I think he thought his research would tip the scales towards the Trust but his gamble will back fire I am sure. If I was Birch liquidation it is the safest bet, anything else opens up the biggest can of worms imagineable.
-
This kid has Chanrai's balls in a vice-like grip
-
Exactly, this is going to run and run and is getting murkier by the day. Birch has been caught between a rock and a hard place and there is no even half-decent solution for him. This is going to get really heavy and for one I can see liquidation as being Birch's best option - anything else is going to end up in a long drawn out legal battle which the club or the trust can ill-afford. Pull up an armchair if I were you.

"Suited and Booted" - new Saints book for sale
Fitzhugh Fella replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
. Have you sought legal advice on this? Yes and the Mirror have admitted they need to take advice. The interviews were given privately to an individual ie David Bull. I don't think David would have had a big problem butit appears the author also altered the odd word to make it seem it was his work while making no acknowlegement of David's original. I have no problem people using my research (that is one reason it's there) but it is protocol to have it acknowledged. Also there are quite a few blatant errors in the book ie getting one manager's name badly wrong. Great photos but sloppy journalism. Still I bought a copy. The Mirror are very good to us and let us use their photos (at a price) and I should imagine there are a great many more in their archives as yet unscanned. -

Every single player quote has been directly lifted from David Bull's interviews previously published in Hagiology books. And you won't buy a book - your sort never do - you just shout loud and nastily behind the anonimity of the internet. Big, brave keyboard warrior that you are. You have my e mail address why don't you prove me wrong get in touch and we can sort out whatever your problem is sensibly? A serious offer but one in which I won't hold my breath. -

What is it about the word PLAGIARISISM you don't understand Once Bitterne? Also Hagiology is not a company it is a collective of Saints fans who make sure our club's history is properly ie factually documented. Don't understand your reference to the union but I am beginning to see why you seem to be so personal towards me. Is it a political thing? You don't like boat rockers, frightened all will not be so cosy in your little home? For the record for others reading this thread, this is an attractive book because of the Mirror archive of photos but the author has ripped David Bull's previous work off to a grossly unnaceptable level and if you think that's ok then by all means buy it, but in my opinion the author does not deserve reward -

I wouldn't bother Norm, the author has repeated David Bull's previously published work in the book and it is riddled with errors. David has written to the publishers to compain and they are conducting an inquiry. There are some nice photos in it courtesy of the Mirrors archive but if you want accuracy authenticity originality stick to Hagiology products. What a nasty twisted person Once Bitterne is - gawd knows why people like him continue to conduct a vendetta. I can only think they are people who are frightened that their masters might be threatened. I invite him to contact me (duncan@duncanholley.co.uk) privately and we can sort out all his fears. -
I agree - he is earning a modicum of respect back for his club. Fair play
-
And only got back into the team recently because of suspensions. Have seen him on the box a few times and I have to say not impressed. I don't think he is Premiership class.

Lots of threads on Nigel Adkins but......
Fitzhugh Fella replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
Alpine - I get comfort that after 7 games and a tough start we are currently not in a relegation spot. I would have settled for that back on that hot day in August prior to the Man City game. -
Lots of threads on Nigel Adkins but......
Fitzhugh Fella replied to Fitzhugh Fella's topic in The Saints
For me 17th is success and we are there now ie three teams below us. Yes it is early days of course but this should be our initial goal. Just need to do better than the 3 teams beneath us. -
Fair play, I have a lot of respect for this lad - he talks from the heart (sensibly) and although I am not going soft he is the sort of fan that triggers a sliver of sympathy for your plight.

Disaggre, Dave, thought he was crap tonight
-
I have been a bit disappointed about the nos of threads started on the likely fate of our manager. Yes he has made mistakes, yes his after match interviews are repetitive and becoming patronising, yes he could be doing better but..... if the season closed tonight we would be safe and that for me is enough as things stand. But the reason I started yet another NA thread is I have just watched the U21 game v Man United and very enjoyable it was too (we equalised with the last kick but were far the better side all night). Who was there watching in the stands? Yes Nigel Adkins, 24 hours after a Prem game. His presence would have been a real boost to the youngsters who performed well (esp Reeves). I am not a happy clappy and I am not trying to overtake NickG as the club's chief propagandist, but I would just like all fans to rally behind our manager for a while longer. Yes not everything is right, his substitutions are questionable etc etc but why don't we all hold fire until at least Xmas and the January window transfer. The fact that he went all the way to Lancashire today to support thr U21s shows his commitment to the cause. I think we got it far from right in our recruitment in the summer but that might not be his fault - back-to-back promotions have earnt him the chance to prove himself without being judged after a handful of games. Apologies to NickG for stealing his thunder.

And Seaborne did not look that great tonight for the U21s at Manchester
