  1. Is Surman injured because he hasn't featured in Norwich's first team for some while?

  3. there is still a lot not right but I can't quite figure it out. If we are going to go up this season these sort of performances will have to be eradicated. We seemed to lack any guile.
  4. So will I - cant believe the fickleness of some on here. Last years cup run ended up with a thrilling 5th round derby, dont knock the Cup, Saints could surprise a few people on here.
  5. Should imagine there is a lot of tough negotiating going on with Preston wondering "who is this man Cortese"?
  6. Was me, first one deffo a fluke, second one hmm need to see a replay perhaps. The kid played well, but Chaplow was mom by a country mile. Thought we took our foot off the gas after going 4-0 up which was a bit anti climatical, GD could be crucial. Can't believe the form Brighton are showing. Fair play - should be a cracker at SMS.
  7. Got it in one. I thought we won that without playing particularly well and both Chamberlain's goals were flukes. Chaplow by far our best player. Lambert had a stinker. Enjoyed the Tranmere game much more than this - tonight was OK but nothing more. Don't get carried away there is still lots of work to be done on this team.
  8. They got all the booking mixed up as well
  9. No I agree with what they have done, just don't like the way the news was conveyed.
  10. I once visited Nick at his newsagents/store near Salisbury and asked to see his FA Cup medal to take a photo. He and his wife could not find it which proved to me just how down to earth and unpretentious they were. No cabinets and boasting for them. A more down to earth bloke you could not wish to meet. I hope he has found it since!!!!
  11. God could he do a job for us now. I think Ball's testimonial says it all - lets face it Alan Ball shared a stage with some of the world's greatest and yet pound for pound the Woolston born Nick is right up there. Probably the best local discovery of all time who stayed with the club. That rules out Ted Drake who I met once and told me he was always proud of his Southampton heritage.
  12. Nick Holmes - quite an accolade from Bally - if I were Nick (we were the same school year) I would be chuffed to hell. And it has to be said a really nice guy to boot.
  13. Only 543 games out
  14. As it is a bit quiet on here how about a quick quiz question “He was one of the best pound for pound pros I ever played with in my entire career. I loved playing alongside him and he was always terrific – he would get you goals, he could defend, I never thought he had a bad game" Alan Ball Oct 2003
  15. Yes someone has just texted me to tell me he has a box named after Ted Bates box and is enjoying his football again. Good to hear I guess.
  16. I have oft wondered if he still goes to SMS. If he does that would prove he is and was a true fan. Don't suppose anyone on here would know? I did hear leon Crouch was intending to start attending again but not sure that has been the case.
  17. a bit of shooting practice called for at Staplewood this week methinks - especially for Morgan!
  18. Get back to your bikini babes!

  20. Hey no offence A, not from you anyway. This is still a bit of fun --no? Cheered me up no end - I am sorry but I won't cry if they fold.

  22. Pompey gone by the time this gets to 35,000 posts - any takers?
  23. And watch Saints 100% sober? I tried it at MK Dons this season - it was quite traumatic
