I think what you are suggesting is that it would be more comfortable for YOU if there was one language spoken at work.

Why does it bother you so much? Are you really that insecure? Somebody's first language is a massive part of their identity and just because you travel to another part of the world, doesn't mean that they should be denied the opportunity to use it when that opportunity arises. I am sure if you were living abroad and met fellow English speakers, you would take the opportunity to speak English to them whenever you could. Whenever I meet non-English speakers through work, I take the opportunity to ask them about their language, perhaps even get them to teach me a few words. Rather than closing yourself off to other cultures and alienating yourself further, why not open up to them. An open mind will certainly help you if you don't intend to "be flipping burgers for the rest of your life". Especially if your ambition is to be working on the till.

Jill's learnt a new word. Although she hasn't really learnt it, she's got a rough idea of what it means, but isn't confident in how to use it. Can we bully Jill the way everyone bullied St Will? The mods and admin can join in, it'll be great.

I am scared that, as I can't post on the main board, and I don't have the PM system enabled, I will not be able to get this information to an administrator in time. As this has 'mods' in the title and knowing the nature of the type of person that wishes to moderate a forum, I assume that all of the mods will read this thread at least a few times each today. Can somebody tell me the score in the game tonight please? I don't have access to the main board and am a massive Saints fan so would like to know. Thank you. Also could I have player ratings, opinions from people at the game and comments about who our worst player is. And perhaps something about the songs that were sung at the game/general atmosphere news. I appear to have been banned from the main board. I don't think I have posted with any frequency on there for a while. I wonder why I have been banned? I'd like to live inside the head of someone who finds sillyness far more offensive than racism, homophobia and just general nastyness. It would be interesting to see what kind of a life it is for such folk.

Yes. They were a London band but lead singer Fred was from Southampton and massive a Saints fan. Was quite an anthem in indie circles in the early 90s. It was great to hear people singing along to the line "And the Saints are playing at home today" back then.

The river in Montreal (about 8 hours drive north) freezes every year and the locals skate to work.
