Agree with all of this. On the keeper thing, though, maybe management did see it but felt that without Forster (I think) we weren’t blessed with replacements? Very good point about midfield. I was crying out for Diallo to come on, not least for his energy at a crucial point. Surely these are basic points for a decent manager?

JWP I thought played like his mind was elsewhere. Funny feeling he’ll end up at Villa. He offers very little in the midfield to be honest. And that brain fart at the end was calamitous. We just seem so naive in areas of the pitch. And that is a managerial matter as much as it is a player one. Brighton were there dor the taking. Ralph always wants to try and sit on a lead, goes defensive, and just ushers them on. Disappointing. But at least we didn’t lose.

I think it would take Ralph storming in to his own bedroom seeing McCarthy with his wife after throwing the ball into his own net 12 times to even consider dropping him on the evidence of this season. And even then he'd put the non-Forster keeper in.

Very good save from Barnes. But he’s too poor positionally and parries dangerously too often. He gets beaten at the near post a fair bit. His judgment is poor and he’s shaky on distribution. He doesn’t transmit confidence. And he left a massive gap at the end near post for Vardy; luckily he was profligate for once. No-one is pretending that Forster is Shilton. But it is a bit mystifying why Ralph ignores him quite so much. And we need to buy a new keeper in January or this will keep happening as it has for months.
