  1. Presumably if you appoint a shit manager you bounce less. Suspect Conte will bounce a bit more than Nuno. Emery will at least plug the goals at the back for Newcastle in a way that Howe probably won't. Hey ho. Maybe it will make Dean Smith throw everything at us in a last bid for a stay of execution.
  2. https://socceranalytics.substack.com/p/is-the-new-manager-bounce-really Here's a bit on it. Personally if we were playing Spurs next I would be more concerned than I would have been two days ago but you're right that doesn't prove anything. https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/16605822/aston-villa-paul-fonseca-contact-replace-smith/
  3. Villa have sounded out Fonseca to replace Smith. Hope this works in our favour and that they don't pull the plug before the game and get new manager bounce

    Other Games 21/22

Everton look shocking. Actually not a great squad. Barring excellent keeper. Wolves all over them.
  6. Maybe they've got interviews at both places directly after each other. They could share a cab (or jet)
  7. Would be very funny if Conte comes over and says no thanks. Again. What a bunch of prima donnas the Spurs players are. Seems to be modern disease. If they don't like the manager they wail and get him moved on.
  8. Anyone know if Ings has COVID and will therefore be out? There were suggestions yesterday that he or one other have COVID-related issues, which was why he didn't play yesterday. Here's hoping (but that he's okay, obvs)
  9. and now he's gone. Conte will cost a fortune
  10. A clever approach from Newcastle this window would indeed be to pluck key players from their relegation rivals as well as a few bigger signings. Think they will be fine. Money talks. Similarly Burnley always do seem to find a way. Norwich have too much to do. Palace are fine with Vieira. Perhaps Brentford will slide as they run out of steam. Difficult to predict who else might be down there tbh
  11. that from Indykaila news on twitter just now
  12. Once again other media outlets using our story as a ‘exclusive’. It gets us vexed! Nuno got sacked yesterday morning. He was collecting his personal belongings this morning from the training ground. Official statement incoming from @SpursOfficial #thfc twitter.com/indykaila/stat…
  13. Someone jumping the gun - apols
  14. Nuno now gone. 10 games. Will cost 10m. Lunacy.
  15. Yes exactly. I got shouted down for suggesting him. There was much derision at Brighton at the time. I said they’d be top 10. Look on course for that.
  16. I think Potter is too level headed and will stay or hold out for the England job. We missed our chance with him. Would have been good fit.
  17. Funny hearing entitled Spurs fans thinking Potter would go to them... Still, who knows? Cannot stand the north London yobbos. Can't even find their own song
  18. Spurs sacking Nuno apparently. What a joke club. Wonder if Ralph on their list.
  19. First away win in 238 days. Apparently. Crikey.
  20. Fantastic result. Well done Saints. Big three points. All down to my insurance bets obvs
  21. 'If fit must play' (probably) He is dire.
  22. Always problematic when contractual situations intervene and are considered above playing merit. See also Theo Walcott (can be the only reason surely?) Goalkeeper has needed fixing for a long time and is a crucial one to get right if relegation is to be avoided.
  23. On account of his performance being much better than any of McCarthy's, reply guy
  24. Forster is better than McCarthy, as proven again against Chelsea. How Ralph can't see this is mystifying (to me). Can Stuart Armstrong get in that team? He would for me. And I'd have Tella instead of Redmond.
  25. Would be good if we got £60m for him. Could fund very necessary purchases elsewhere. I think he's the sort of calibre of player they will go after so not impossible.
