  1. Agree, although was expecting West Ham's goal against Spurs to be overturned but it wasn't. Guess Levy's speeddial wasn't working for once. Djenepo non-cards was bizarre. Think he's a bit too honest. Needs to get angrier at refs, and Ralph needs to jump up and down a bit. Seems to work with some. The bawling that comes from the back-room boys at some clubs is very noticeable. Refs even seem to quake at them, never mind home crowds.
  2. Cracking result. Well done Saints. Happy to stop the rot
  3. That Spurs considering Ralph if Mourinho sacked story is surfacing again, this time in the Athletic
  4. Or eyesight
  5. Palace also in free-fall. Mate thinks Roy is off and the players know this. Plus pretty poor without Zaha
  6. Fulham drawing with Burnley is a decent result for us. It’s come to this.

    Nathan Redmond

Totally agree. Should have got rid a while back. Any suitors out there, though? No, Pep does not want to buy him...

    The RB Conundrum

I thought this was going to be about Red Bull and whether or not to rail against a possible takeover. Personally I think it would be great. Can only dream. Stick Stephens in at right back or JWP with Romeu and Diallo/Jankevitz in the middle
  9. I just think the way to start a journey back to form is to build from the back with clean sheets and that Forster behind Bednarek and Vestergaard or even Salisu and Vestergaard is the way to do that. Get a boring backs to the wall 0-0 against Chelsea as the first step. Then it builds from there. Become hard to beat. I know this is easier said than done, of course, but feel that McCarthy's frailty at the moment (and it is a loss of form) is too much for the team in a key position. We also badly need Diallo's strength back, and Adams defending from the front to be back to what it was (fleetingly). Redmond has no place in this for me as he loses the ball way too easily and too often. And his final ball is, for a pro, pretty abysmal.
  10. Enlarge on why you think V isn't 'even close'. I'm searching for those with more leadership qualities than JWP and couldn't really find any. Hence our position at the moment
  11. Vestergard looked assured, played some fantastic cross-field balls and actually appears to care. He also has the physical presence to do more to motivate. Redmond was wasteful and awful as always, and never hits the net. Tella looks keen and young, Ralph clearly likes him, and he is NotRedmond. McCarthy was woeful and tentative on his distribution, which fills me and the defence with fear. Also, he seemed to be confused when to take the knee. It is not when trying to block a little bit of the goal that Neto could see as he approached. But hey, it's all about opinions, right?
  12. I'd make Vestergard captain, drop Redmond for Tella and McCarthy for Forster. We need a bit of bite. When can Diallo return?
  13. It's why Ralph took him off. The impudence of ignoring the plan
  14. This. Where is the anger? The grit to avenge the decision. The battle? They seem very like a group of individuals. Lily-livered, and just content to luxuriate in over-passing. Perhaps we miss Theo's directness., even if he doesn't have much of an end-product
  15. I love JWP but is he really captain material? I mean 'come on lads, FFS, grabbing a game by the scruff of the neck, leading by example, character, grit and determination' kind of captain? We don't seem to have any of these players at all. And it is why we fold like a limp biscuit the moment there is anything that goes against us. 'Why me?' we wimper at the ref as we give in and hope someone else takes initiative. Raph's tactics may be one dimensional, and his team selection, favourites and inability to do the right substitutes might be costing us, but we really miss having someone with, well, balls. We need a Dunk (or someone else who clearly cares)
  16. So why does he keep picking him?
  17. Even beaten there he should t core from that angle. Just standing up a goalkeeper would have saved it
  18. I mean he is poor. And should have been dropped for Forster. But for some reason Ralph picked him again.
  19. Invisible shit goalkeeper again
  20. Goal of the season (for us). Terrific.
  21. Me too. Hadn't realised how low Saints results get me until this morning when I woke and remembered last night's. Long may it continue
  22. I thought Forster did pretty well with more than a few interventions coming out of his box to head clear and generally marshalled his area well. PLus his kicking was better than McCarthy and looked less ponderous and unsure with the ball at his feet. I'd try him back at Wolves on Sunday.
  23. Me too re Armstrong (except for his open goal miss). Forster was also good, but having KWP back makes a massive difference to the shape of the side and its ability to press. Will be good to have Minamino available again to drop Redmond but fear that Djenepo will be the fall guy
  24. Totally agree. And money available for each place we finish, along with general ability to attract better players and keep Ralph. And avoid getting sucked into dreary relegation talk. People giving up and saying ‘mid-table finish so what’s the point’ are a bit weird to be honest.
  25. I’d start Forster and bring Vestergard in for Salisu to let him ease into fitness. He’s been a long time out and will be knackered tonight. I’d also drop Redmond for being shite.
