I may be in the minority but would keep Long as a decent foil for Che Adams, and one who does a lot of the running and closing down that others don't. Especially useful when we have a midfield that gets overrun and a defence that is still way too lightweight for another season without worries

I think he's always had the look of someone that thinks that Southampton FC is way below his level. Better to take the cash and wait for the next opportunity. Not basing this on anything other than body language and the effort he appears to put in. Like Van Dyke in his latter weeks. Hope I'm wrong and he can put it all behind him and prove an absolute diamond next season. But suspect we'll cash in.
