Totally agree. Almost one of Hughes' biggest failings was to see the worth he could have in protecting our poor CBs. the sort of thing Wanyama used to do pretty well tbh
I think the difference is that Hoedt thinks he's Franz Beckenbauer but plays more like Franz Ferdinand (the band). Vestergaard looks to me like a player who has realised he's been rumbled, a bit like Forster.
Didn't say anything about any of those other players you mention, or that they should be definitely playing. Good try though. How's that prediction about Sarri doing badly at Chelsea and Puel not lasting doing?

Good side I reckon. Austin a bit of an outlier though. Good to see he’s immediately seen that Hoedt is gash and perhaps that Bertrand is disruptive
