Got to feel sorry for the players here as well, they’ve put in a hell of a shift this year and they’ve clearly been lied to. In all the interviews they’ve been completely professional and said it’s just noise, focus on the next game etc, that’s what’s been fed to them by Saints. You’d assume so, was on the bench on Tuesday. Manning has been great going forward this season so probably keeps his place, but switches off far too often at the back. Welington may have a big job to do off the bench

Real shame that there’s next to no interest in the actual footballing side of this tie as it stands. I think the first goal will be absolutely huge in this tie. They’re pretty decent on the break but not the most expansive, there should be chances both ways. Score first and I think we’ll be fine, I don’t love the idea of them leading then sitting in and playing on the break though. Fitness depending, I think the team pretty much picks itself for this one. I think Fellows/Matsuki is probably Tonda’s biggest headache and possibly whether Captain Jack is fit or not. Whatever the outcome, the whole thing is shoddy and amateurish from the club since the supposed event. Especially in terms of releasing ticketing details and then having to take it down again. I get being tight lipped about the event itself, but poorly managed since.

Fair play to Boro, they made it a cracking atmosphere first half. They faded as much as their performance second half after not capitalising on their dominance, must be so frustrating to see that happen every week. I think if we’d just made the ball stick up top a couple of times the game may have become more even before it did, we just needed to give them something to worry about rather than letting them camp in our half. Fellows was fucking dreadful, Matsuki 100% needs to start on Tuesday. We caused all our own issues by giving it away cheaply and not pressing. Azaz had another stinker, they really seem to rattle him. Everything bounced off Larin and the ref gave him no protection from the man handling, though felt he could’ve been more aggressive. Don’t think I’ll ever plan a night out in Middlesbrough again. Fantastic result overall, need to recreate the atmosphere from the WBA game 2 years ago and get the job finished.
