We’ve been absolutely atrocious against sides in and around the bottom 3 this season. Lost - Blackburn (a), Norwich (a), Oxford (a) Drawn - Pompey x2, WBA
-
Leo doesn’t get much because he’s so quick to throw himself to the ground looking for it. If he’d man up and try to ride a challenge, the referees would have more sympathy for when he’s actually fouled

Walking back to where I’m staying through the slums of West Birmingham. Garbage performance and massive opportunity wasted. They were there for the taking and I’m sure it would have been fine if we’d scored first in that first half. They offered very little but we dawdled and were happy to casually knock it side to side and backwards, no movement off the ball and fuck all effort. They realised we weren’t up for it and grew into the game. Infuriating. In the end even a point is a massive smash and grab. Have to be so much better and up for it on Saturday or we’ll get pumped. Absolute stinker from Azaz. When he’s off it, he’s really off it

Saints vs Ipswich confirmed for Tuesday April 28th. Unlikely but maybe they won’t be playing for much
-
Would be 86 points. Boro on for 88 at their current PPG. Bit of a long shot but can’t hurt to dream. Watch us get comfortably turned over tonight
-
Should be in front of the FABstapo firing squad for asking for more than face value for a ticket IMO
-
Not convinced on Hull really, think they could be dragged in. 2 shocking penalty decisions against Ipswich in 2 games. They’ve got a lot to do if they want autos
-
Win the games in hand then it’s 1 point off Wrexham, 4 points off Hull. No room for a slip up tomorrow
-
Didn’t realise Baz was fit again
-
Crushing for them. Still a shit result for Watford which is good for us
-
And Hollywood FC
-
Yeah grim that. Won’t go down well with players or fans surely
-
Sheff Weds winning! Great set of results for us so far. Have to make the most of it tomorrow
-
Ipswich really struggling. The 2nd they conceded would’ve looked right at home in a collection of our worst goals conceded under Russell Martin
-
He’s fit enough for the occasional burst because he spends 95% of the game stood still or walking between those bursts. Absolutely zero pressing from the front. His hands were on his knees after about 20 minutes in front of the saints end on Sunday, gassed. He causes a bit of a nuisance but his touch is pretty shit and he’s way off the pace for me, Stewart is twice the player
-
Agree with this. I’d definitely start Stewart and bring Larin on later. He doesn’t look fit, think he’d get more joy against a tiring defence
-
Even more baffling that if he’d opened up his body to take a shot with his right, he’d have had a great angle to score. Going outside with his left massively narrowed the angle. Frustrating as he should be on at least 5 for the season but seems to be getting further away from scoring
-
Yeah Norwich at home will be a test, they’re in great form. Need to win 3 out of 4 really before the break
-
Thoughts on the train home: - Larin looks 10kg overweight and like he spent last night in the pub - Bree was fucking excellent. I wasn’t bothered when he was loaned out but he’s come back and been almost perfect when we were short at RB. Really stepped up - the referee was absolutely abysmal - Larin was having his shirt ripped off him every time it went near him, gave Fulham every 50/50 and if we’re being honest the other way, the penalty was soft as shit. But I think deserved as he gave us nothing else all game - big contingent of Saints ‘yoof’ embarrassed themselves today. On the train up and in the pubs after - that said, really good noise from the away end despite a 1200 kickoff. Numbers wise not that smaller than last weekend but 5x better - Fulham don’t have much else to play for, thinking they could rotate that much against an in form Championship side and get away with it was ill judged. Deserved away win IMO

WUM

That’s what I meant. Bought the ticket straight through to Putney
-
Trains from Southampton go direct to Clapham Junction but on the Fareham/Havant line. Not the quickest but we’re making a day of it anyway. Paid £32 return with a railcard
-
Full strength, fucking go for it. We’re not ready to be promoted and it’s a long shot anyway. Don’t want us rolling over for anyone, let alone a club that has a ‘neutral end’, no matter how good their squad is these days
-
We’re going to drop more stupid points where we’d hope and expect to win. We’ll probably have to win 1 or 2 of the ones we’d worry about up front. Would be like us to beat Cov away then lose to Norwich at home
-
It’s going to be tight. Was just looking at a 10 game form table, in that time we’ve caught up exactly 0 points on Wrexham and just 1 on Hull. Realistically it’s those we’re chasing. I actually think Hull are more likely to have a slump, they’ve been very lucky to win their last couple of games
