Was just thinking about this. Both experienced, sensible full backs who’d likely give you 7/10 most weeks. And frees up a an extra man in midfield which should give the back 4 more protection than we’ve been seeing

We went far more attacking than I’d anticipated at Northampton and still managed to be completely toothless, so I’m guessing WS will go fairly strong again. Whatever it looks like though, he’s going to be really testing the patience of fans if he doesn’t ditch this stupid 5 at the back, unless it provides a much improved performance and result.

Time to ‘experiment’ with a back 4, and get minutes for some strikers who desperately need to find a goal and prove they can play regularly. Don’t really care if we lose, we can then focus on being shit in the league.

I was keeping an eye on him and agree, his movement looked decent but nobody would pick him out. When we had Stewart and Archer on as well, they’d all make the same run and get in each others way. Bit of a mess but too early to write him off

Most of the teams in the league would’ve shithoused a win against us today. If you miss that many golden chances and gift some more at the other end, you’re going to struggle. I’m normally one of the more negative, frustrating but I think it’s fine margins there. Downes had a shocker in giving up possession which led to their first, then should’ve equalised right after = different game. Their keeper made an unreal save from THB just before their goal, probably kept them in it. Then we’ve been hugely naive to let their keeper bowl them an assist when we’ve overcommitted. 2 stupid mistakes for their goals, and 3 missed sitters and hit the post twice, really we’ve done enough to win that but fucked it where it counts. How there’s only 5 mins added too is a joke, should’ve been 12. Another awful official but we’ve got to get used to that

He looked unbelievably shaky, and played Welington in the shit a few times who also struggled under the unnecessary pressure he was put under from Quarshie. THB wasn’t great either but we know he’s good at this level and better in a back 4. Don’t think it’d be a bad thing to ease Quarshie in a bit rather than relying on him every week

Their tails will be up and our record against them is pretty shit, often when we’ve expected to beat them it’s not gone our way. Will be interesting to see who’s available for us, hard to pick an XI at the moment. Would love a front 3 of J-Rob, Arma and one of the big lads leading the line but don’t think we’re going to see it based on having to play a back 3/5 at the moment.
