Happy to have been wrong on this one, very decent performance. Nice surprise to see some end product from Sulemana and great to see Stu get a start and play well. For me he was really important, always looks to get us moving forward rather than backwards and into our dicking around at the back/conceding shit goals mode. On that, we were lucky to not get punished for dicking around at the back a few times, still something to work on. Would love to see us go after a new CB with some physical presence in January, we could be a lot more commanding on set pieces and height in the squad in general

Defences operate far better with a trusted and commanding presence behind them. We haven’t got that. But he’s not helped by the fact that the defence are full of mistakes too.

Our set up was horrible for the counter for the first goal with 11 players in the final third but so many individual errors for the goals: 2nd - Stu bottles the tackle and turns his back on it 3rd - Baz near post 4th - Holgate double howler 5th - Downes doesn’t even get off the ground to challenge the header

I’d take a repeat of our last season in the Championship, almost nobody could get close to us at home. We did have the advantage of a winning habit going into it though, which counts for a lot I reckon.

Never been to Blackburn, Coventry, Huddersfield, Plymouth, Preston, Rotherham, Sunderland or Swansea so will try to get some of them done. A mate who’s an Ipswich fan reckons they’ll do alright, they got a lot of points in L1 last season and we remember what it’s like to have that momentum. Think it’ll be hard for us to get back into a winning habit.
