  1. They were booed off, with half the ground empty by the time the final whistle rang out, yet captain courageous has never known a group of fans as bestest as the ones in Skatesmouth! http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/skipper-fans-were-right-to-boo-us-off-1-4448607 I guess it must have sounded like 40,000 booes - must have been a harrowing experience.
  2. The thoughts of Pompey fans on 6/11/12 "You can't blame Howe for recalling him [Thomas] with the form he's in if he's going to play him. But to leave him out? He's clearly done it to hinder us. " (how DARE they!!!) "McLeod goes down under Williamson's long ball but the referee is not interested" (referee crumbling under the pressure) "...a mate has just told me he left 10 minutes before half time, as he could not face watching any more as it was that bad. He is a die hard Pompey fan..." (undisputed BESTEST fans in the whole wide world) Thanks Brentford, another day where justice prevails.
  3. Did this cost us the first goal? NO!!! It must have been 20 seconds later, and resulted from Fox being non-existant at left back and Schneiderlin being lazy. Awful excuse. Whatever happened to 'control the controllables'!!!!!
  4. Schneiderlin is a player I have long admired during our rise to the top, largely for his work ethic and passing ability. I believed he had the potential to reach the national team. But today Mulumbu made him look about as good as Paul Wotton. Lightweight, poor passing, limited effort. He's got a terrible attitude towards referees too. Davis complemented him today superbly - they were both arse biscuits. Blame the players, not the gaffer. I'd like to think they'd respond vs Swansea, but I'm not sure they have the belief or the heart.
  5. While a lot of us are getting miserable, personally I've been pretty content to simply watch us play Premier League. 4 years ago I couldn't see a way back for this club to reach the top division, but yet it is here. Of course I've got my fingers, toes and nipples crossed that we'll begin to pick up a few more points but I realised last week watching Gareth Bale just how proud I am of Saints to have produced such a special talent. We're not going to win the Premier League, we're not going to be taking on Barcelona any time soon, so for me the success of our youth products is as good as it gets. It gives me as much pride to see players like Bale do well as it did to earn promotion last season. These were our kids, they come with 'made in Southampton' burned to their backsides and they are ripping up the Premier League. What's even better is that there is even more to come. Ward-Prowse, Shaw, Sinclair... if we can get to a position where we can keep these players long term it would be unreal. So right now, sit back and reflect on how awesome we are when it comes to youth. We're top of the U18s, we've produced Shearer, Le Tiss, Bridge, Walcott, Bale and Oxo and for that reason I AM PROUD!
  6. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/appy-cherries-have-done-us-no-favours-1-4416833 whinge, whinge.... Eddie Howe must be terrified, the dark lord is coming! I'm sure their conversation will have to wait until he's had his 'day' with the Football League over the -10.
  7. Bale's my captain for Fantasy Football this week so hopefully he'll bag all of Spurs' goals and make the viewing a little less uncomfortable. Saints 2-4 Spurs
  8. Happy to be reading a positive thread, Adkins deserves AT LEAST this season and the beginning of next to turn this around. Back to back promotions FFS. Sacking managers too early is moronic and what's sad is that almost everyone has caught the 'knee-jerk' disease.
  9. The guy is a walking moron. Loaning players out FFS! Those poor players not playing in the team.... they need game time! So we'll loan them out and replace them with BETTER players! Better than the ones currently in the team! Then we'll loan those players that are kicked out of the first team out too! AND REPLACE THEM WITH EVEN BETTER PLAYERS! A vicious cycle. Portsmouth remind me of the US Postal Cycling Team. Prepared to do ANYTHING THEY POSSIBLY CAN to get results. F*CK THE FUTURE, SHORT TERM GAIN!
  10. Absolutely disgraceful comments from Appleton once again: http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/appleton-feels-for-departed-obita-1-4405340 See the final 'paragraph'....... Completely and utterly deluded! They really believe they have a God given right to a full squad full of players that are on 5k + a week. Whenever they get any money down there all they think about is "PLAYERS! SHORT TERM GAIN! MUST GET PROMOTED! MUST DO IT NOW! F*CK THE YOUTH! F*CK THE CREDITORS! MUST GET PLAYERS. MUST WIN LEAGUE." Unbelieveable Jeff.
  11. Get in lallana 2-1
  12. Disgraceful defending once again. Beyond a joke.
  13. Awful keeping by Boruc for their 1st and Yoshida at fault for the 2nd. Shooting. Ourselves. Foot.
  14. I once got kicked out of a nightclub* for constantly chanting his name. This was definitely all Guly's fault, he shouldn't have scored a brace vs Crystal Palace. *not kicked out exactly, but I did get a funny look. I've never been the same since.
  15. Knowing the Football League, it will be 1 more CCJs than the amount lodged. Whatever suits the agenda. The Football League are only concerned about 1 thing. THEIR REPUTATION! They will not be seen as the ones to push Pompey over the edge.
  16. The reality is that UEFA will do very little. They will be seen to do something, a tiny fine. UEFA and FIFA are the epitome of what is wrong with the world - corruption, favouritism, fraud, you name it and they will be involved. What should happen? Serbia should be banned from hosting any UEFA/FIFA sanctioned matches in their home country until the end of the 2014 World Cup. It is not safe for away teams to compete there. Danny Rose may have been racially abused, he has every right to be upset (of course, understatement...), but his red card will stand as by law the referee was right to send him off. Any player or coach who is seen to be headbutting or even racially abusing another player should be hit with much bigger suspensions though.
  17. Bournemouth just don't understand, they've never been in a situation anything like what poor old plucky bestest loyal faithful massive pompey are currently in. Absolute disgrace from Bournemouth not to be giving Wes Thomas a free transfer. They should have to pay his wages until the end of the season too.
  18. I think we can do better for our money considering his wages are astronomical. No sell on value either.
  19. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-boss-salutes-new-found-mentality-1-4367194 The poor referee just couldn't handle the occasion. It's alright Appy, you can defer the payment until further notice and then pay 0% of 4% of 20% of the fine.
  20. The likes of McLeod are allowed to sign for 4k a week, and Buszaky for over 6k (if the murmurings about him rejecting 6k a week at Bristol City are true) as at this stage the Football League is not overseeing transactions. Only until the takeover is complete will the skates lose their 10 points and the financial restrictions imposed by the FL will take effect. So all of these short contracts would seem to be one last hurrah, a final opportunity to spend parachute money into the black hole. Player wages and the short-term future has always been of the utmost importance, NOT ONCE have they considered their long term future over the past 10 years. Not even now, after all that has happened. If they even cared about their future, then we wouldn't have seen 'superstar' Sam Magri depart for QPR.
  21. Both teams were appauling. The performance reminded me a lot of the Wigan game - Lallana looked the liveliest but he can't be the only one creating the chances. Adkins had an absolute shocker today, what was he thinking? His only saving grace is that Chaplow and Guly both did alright, but take off Puncheon who was looking so lively? Take off Lambert!!!! Unbelieveable Jeff. Gazzaniga: 7 - one super save Yoshida: 5 - out of position and struggled because of it Hooiveld: 4 - no confidence, no self-belief, horrible display Fonte: 9 - our only saving grace at the back, a couple of great tackles, two well taken goals. MOTM. Fox: 6 - always frustrated with his defending, both goals inadvertently came from right wing. Good set pieces today. Davis: 6 - OK passing, OK pressing, OK performance Schneiderlin: 7 - hit and miss today, but put in a reasonable shift Puncheon: 7 - looked lively, didn't deserve to be subbed Lallana: 7 - continues to prove he is a Premier League quality player, not quite his best but still our biggest threat. Rodriguez: 6 - bless his cotton socks, tried hard, contributed, missed a good chance though on 85' Lambert: 7 - played well, was a threat, didn't deserve to be subbed Richardson: n/a - speedy recovery! Chaplow: 7 - lots of energy, great pressing Guly: 7 - grafted, played well. Not enough players stood up today and really took it to them. We need to improve and quick!
  22. Appy continues to spout nonsense in today's Portsmouth Delusion, apparently Kevin Long will have gained so so much from his 5 Pompey matches as the club is ABSOLUTELY MASSIVE, a big fish in a small pond, and the likes of Rochdale and Accrington Stanley aren't worthy enough to wipe the sh*t from his ar*e. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/pompey-boss-convinced-defender-learned-from-fratton-education-1-4299911 Glad to see they missed out on that 'proven Premier League performer too'... hahaha
  23. We've been a bit blunt, our passing is awful and our defending is rash. Villa are nullifying our attack considerably. Lallana was onside, as they say luck doesn't go your way when you're at the bottom. That is the hardest call to make as an Assistant Referee judging the crossover to the point where the ball is kicked but at that level it's a little disappointing if they get it wrong. Fox has been crap, Lambert is having another stinker too - not the best decision maker on the field.
  24. The delusion is totally incomprehendable! "Maybe the occasion was too big for him in terms of Fratton Park".... HAHAHAHAHAHA! League One referees in the past few years have had to officiate at Elland Road and Hillsborough, two of the most famous football grounds in the country, but that's nothing in comparison to the falling down shack of beauty that is Fratton Park. My days...
  25. Roberto Mancini will also sign on to work as assistant to NA.
