Apparently at the last meal Cortese was asked about the poor 'relationship' the club has with same areas of the press. He pointed at Sibley and said blame him. Nothing more was said. His latest tweet kind of backs this up. A little *****y!

Take Lambert for instance. Fans would say we probably want £10m for him but nobody would pay THAT much for him. The higher the fee a club asks for the more important the player is to his club. Van Der Vaart went to Spurs for just £8m because he was not that important to Real Madrid. Matt Mills was an important part of Readings team so Leicester had to pay over the odds to get him. As we all know he is not a £5m player on talent. Another good example is Andy Carroll. Important player for Newcastle, Liverpool were desperate and wanted him that much they paid £35m. He is not a £35m player based on talent. I think I've proved my point.

Going back to the discussion on Transfer fees. You really cant compare fees, they are not just set on the players quality. Fees depend on how much the buying club wants the player and how important that player is to his current club.

He was off the list in the summer! Cortese told the guys at the last meal that he didn't like his laid back attitude. Thats why we didn't sign him.
