As they're playing without shinpads, there's obviously not a lot of contact. And, sorry, but when I see CAPITALS all over the place for emphasis, let alone RED [\COLOR] I immediately become suspicious. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Fair enough. I'll accept he'll not close any doors. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

He's even got two different ages in the same article. And the transfer request but is not that he is going to, but "could even do it". I suggest they're just following the pattern adopted so often and as nothing's happening, put out the idea that he'll put in the request. No evidence at all. And has Pellegrino said he wouldn't stand in VVD's way? Don't recall that. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

£25m for Bertrand would be a joke on the current climate. English, good defender, dangerous in attack and can cross a ball. Double it, at least. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

I've said it before, but I'm amazed that Sky can use their "sources" to start a rumour and encourage betting, reduce the odds to give the impression that lots are betting on it and it's likely to happen. Then, of course, if they find it really is on, they quickly close the market. Otherwise, when (as usually happens), the rumours turn out to be rubbish, they drop the story with no explanation, no penalty and a good profit. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Am I the only one who thinks betting odds on transfers are stupid and this is meaningless? All it does mean is, plenty of idiots have read random and bogus Tweets and lumped money on, bringing down the odds, much to the delight of the betting firms. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

And, just supposing VVD does go on strike or asks for a transfer. The only thing that could be promoting that is LFC, and they know that they have to back off or face tapping-up charges. Which makes me hope that this time, the Scousers won't get their own way by bullying. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Where are we? I'd guess that: Virgil has been told he's not leaving. Probably also been told he can go next year for the right price. He's close to accepting that and doesn't want to alienate Saints fans. But his agent and LFC (indirectly) are still pressing him and he's tempted, but not to the point of striking or a transfer request. So he agrees to cryptic tweets and Instagram posts, probably written. You his agent, gently probing whether he can stir something up. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Yep. He could kill this stone dead by saying "with Saints", but doesn't. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Is he stirring on behalf of an agent? Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

In other words, confirmed as total bullsh!t. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

But I think further evidence has been found. Not that anything meaningful will be done Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Someone needs to post this on the Liverpool forum. ? Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Very true. That point seems to escape some of our readers. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

This is the point. Mané wasn't an instant success. Romeu had an average first season. Cedric has improved massively. Van Dijk has always been good, but wasn't a £70m player instantly. I'm hopeful that this will be Hojbjerg's breakthrough season and in a year or two we'll be laughing at those who wrote him off and fending off massive offers for him. I'd like to think the same for Boufal, but I think he's got further to go. And it could be any one of several others - Gallagher, Sims, Hesketh, Stephens (nearly there), Redmond (not sure, but improving). Even JWP. I think the key factor is the manager recognising a player's strengths, developing them and using them by giving him a chance. No doubt some will go forward under a new manager and, unfortunately, some will go backwards. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

It really is time the media were punished for failing to check sources. Journalism is now so lazy it consists mainly of monitoring social media and churning out any seemingly juicy gossip as fact. Posters on here dismissed this within minutes yesterday, and exposed the source as bogus. Why couldn't the Mirror and Liverpool Echo do the same? Obviously, because they want to stir up a story. This is just going to be incessant now. LFC are determined to keep this alive in the media to build the feeling that it's Saints being the bad guys. After all, VVD has said he wants to go to Liverpool and only Liverpool, because he's passionately in love with Klopp and they're obviously the greatest club in the world (it's actually only alleged by those connected with LFC) and they'll pay him Megabucks (true). And Liverpool want him, so how dare a tiny club stop them? And they value him at £40-50m, so that's that. Saints are clearly being ridiculous to want more. And, indirect suggestions that he goes on strike, or puts in a transfer request will hopefully translate into "he is threatening to go on strike and put in a transfer request' and that will alienate some Saints fans (working already on here) and confirm that Saints are being unreasonable. The only snag is that the club themselves have to be just a little bit careful or they may get told off again. But no real problem, because this is LFC, too valuable to the Premier League to upset or punish. And the media are totally happy to publish every ex-LFC's considered opinion that he should move. It's the way they work, and it stinks. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

If that's it, it's just a rehash of something that was tweeted yesterday. This "lawyer" is pretty-well untraceable on Google except for football transfer rumours. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Probably all come from that "lawyer" article yesterday - which was discredited but is now resurfacing, taken at face value, everywhere, but mainly in Liverpool. There's nothing in the national press. Perhaps being just a little bit cautious for once. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

If you check back you'll see this looks an extremely dubious source. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Thanks OldNick. I certainly don't consider myself a troll and you are right, I was suspicious of a first post quoting a Liverpool fan site. If you look at my recent replies, I apologised for mistaking the poster for a possible Skate. To return to my usual polite self, I would respectfully suggest that it's always good to try to check sources before posting. There's far too much rubbish (and trolling) out there that it's easy to be taken in by. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
