  1. Quality CB and DM are still my priorities, particularly after last night. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  2. Not overly impressed with Ings. Could be more of the same. But the second is intriguing. [emoji41] Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  3. That's the only positive I can take. Sometimes it can be good to lose a few in pre-season to stop any complacency, underline signings needed and show which players cope under pressure. I think it was the Poortlivet season where we smashed several weak teams in pre-season then, when the real event started, fell to pieces. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  4. No he wasn't. Probably our best player. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  5. I won't be surprised if we lose to Uddersfield on the 27th since we'll be tired after playing them the day before! [emoji6] Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  6. They won. [emoji20] Have to wait for the playoffs. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  7. If it was a final audition for Bednarek, he failed. I hope Saturday's team is something like Forster (as no alternative) Cedric/Pied Yoshida Stephens Bertrand Romeu Davis Tadic JWP Boufal Gabbiadini Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  8. On the basis of that, Forster still looks worryingly slow, Bednarek isn't anywhere near good enough, Pied ok, Yosh and Stephens too weak in the air, Hojbjerg lightweight and error prone, DM without Romeu is a disaster area. Long isn't a winger. Austin too static. Let's hope we're saving it for Saturday. This is depressing: Puel's lack of creativity without his reasonably strong defence. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  9. We are awful defensively. Trying to press in midfield and put in tackles when they should be standing off. Wide open to through balls and being carved open at will. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  10. You could be right. There's so much that hasn't been said. In any case, he'll possibly end up in a Fonte situation and take any move to save face. But he will still attract a better class of club. [emoji6] Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  11. But we're led to believe he doesn't want to go there. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  12. That's the dangerous side of the game he's playing. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  13. Which shows the sorry state the PL has reached. There is actually too much money on the system now and it's destroying the game. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  14. Thanks for the update, Tom. Seems he's dug a hole and doesn't know how to stop digging. Or is stubborn and bloody-minded. In which case we should match him all the way. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  15. Ok, so we are now looking to sell, but it does seem the valuation is being held. And from Tom's post, it does seem Virgil has dug himself a hole from which he can't get out without losing face. He made the mistake of thinking there would be a mass exodus, which there isn't. Sounds like all the other original want-aways have bought back into the club now that we have a new manager, and VVD is now totally isolated. I'd still hold out to at least force a transfer request and loss of bonus, certainly for our full valuation, and not to Liverpool at any cost. If Chelsea or City want to cough up £70m, fair enough. But do they want a player who's demonstrated that he has no respect for contracts, no loyalty and will just go on strike again next year if he fancies Barca? It will certainly give him a wake-up call if there are no offers. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  16. And that is becoming a standard tactic by agents and their spoilt brats of players. At some point, for the good of the game, it has to be stopped. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  17. Yes, and show some genuine commitment. He's pretty well got to make a statement admitting he wanted a big money move but accepts he has a responsibility to Saints. Needs some positive noises about the new manager and ambition for this season. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  18. That's because it's the price Liverpool always feed them. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  19. This. As I've suggested before, Virgil doesn't seem to realise the damage he's doing to his reputation. His agent is probably largely to blame. He/they are still assuming that Saints will eventually buckle. I suppose that's fair enough -, plenty on here would have given in to him by now. But if Saints are to move on from being bullied and blackmailed every summer, they have to stand firm, and I'm pretty sure they will. And everyone except Virgil and his lowlife of an agent has got that. Even LFC know that, although they won't discourage indirect stirring. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  20. Gets my vote. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  21. I've used a Canadian company called G Adventures several times. They do a whole range of trips, from YOLO for U30s to moderately comfortable tours. I like them as the pace is always good, travel and accommodation are taken care of but there's loads of freedom beyond that, with good advice if needed. Small groups. 22. 100%, utter, total, complete, self-destructing fake. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  23. This is another idiotic piece based on the premise that we have to sell and will drop the price as the window progresses with little interest. Utterly lazy journalism (?). Completely misses the fact that Saints have said not for sale, presumably because everyone knows we are a selling club. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  24. Whether or not we're interested in Hoedt, the rest is the usual Mail b0ll0cks, based on nothing at all. There is absolutely no new information. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
  25. You obviously haven't been watching the same games as me. Yes, he sometimes plays the simple ball out to the wing, or back to retain possession. But he's equally involved in short sharp passing and regularly finds the ball inside the full back to get a player to the bye-line for a cross. Amongst a contingent of fans, there's a popular but inaccurate view that he is (as you say), slow and ponderous. He isn't. He may slow the game down but he can read the game well and pick a pass. The understanding between him and JWP is a significant factor when we are playing well. He's a key link in the midfield, working hard and giving the more creative players opportunities. IMO, when he's not on the field, we are never as cohesive. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
