I did consider "to buy some semolina" [emoji3][emoji3] Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Can't resist a bit of conspiracy theory. When Virgil got injured it didn't seem much at the time, but then dragged on and on. It probably was a niggly thing that took ages but it was sad that he wasn't fit in time for the EFL final. Or is it beyond the bounds of possibility that this was the beginning of the plan to escape? After all, two reasons he'd put forward for leaving would be to win trophies and play in Europe. And if he helped Saints to win a trophy and get into Europe, he might not have been sufficiently disgruntled to want out. The same might have happened if he'd helped Saints to a higher league position. And, of course, that would have delayed his agent's bonus. Although, if either of those had happened, we'd probably still have Puel. Who apparently was not liked by Mr VD. Ridiculous, of course, but just wondering. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Morning Virgil. Not going too well, is it? Guess that's because you've still been listening to your grasping @rsehole of an agent instead of the voice of common sense on this esteemed forum. Pretty obvious now that you're not going to join the blessed Klopp. Your agent so screwed things up the red lot on Merseyside daren't come near you. And Saints won't talk to them anyway. That transfer request really was a desperate and futile move, wasn't it! You obviously thought it would alienate Saints so much they'd just want to get rid of you. Well, I think you (or your ***t of an agent) got the alienation right with all the blaming of SFC, when you're the one whingeing and refusing to play matches. But it really shows you up in a bad light. The trouble is, with Liverpool out of it, Saints are happily planning for the season without you and don't need to sell you, and I'm not really sure anyone else will want to take on a player, who is undoubtedly talented, but isn't match fit with no games for 8 months and hasn't proved himself after injury. Add to that, the way you're behaving now will make any club think twice, since you'll no doubt do it again a couple of years down the line. And anyone will now be careful about taking on a player with such a sh!t-stirring agent who'll no doubt cause nothing but trouble. So good luck. Think you'll need it now. I reckon the best plan is sack your agent, grovel to Saints, say sorry to everyone, get on with training and playing like you mean it. And ask nicely if you might have a move next year, when, actually, you'll still owe Saints 4 years. Or hope someone's brave enough to take you on, but it won't be Liverpool or in the terms you're expecting. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Les Reed went to Europe To buy a Ford Cortina Instead he bought a midfield man He calls himself Lemina He passes to his left, he passes to his right And if he ever scores a goal We'll sing this song all night. (Work in progress. I'll get my coat)[emoji23] Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Do you seriously think we'll not do it again? [emoji6] Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

It certainly won't be. Different position, and I believe JWP will be key this season. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Sorry, but I've tried hard to like Clasie, but apart from odd flashes he's always seemed too lightweight, yet lacks the stamina to finish a game strongly. Wasn't too keen when we signed him, and I think he'd be best advised to go look outside of the English leagues. Not that I'm exactly enthralled with Hojbjerg, but I'm hoping he'll start to show his early promise.

And, in vaguely related news, it's being reported that agreement has been reached to sell Coutinho. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Being reported by some agencies, including ESPN, that agreement has been reached. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Nice to see a balanced, reasoned piece. It's the first article I've seen that touches on a possible shift in power away from players and agents, with clubs refusing to do business and holding players to contracts. In my opinion, a welcome development. We need to see an end to the attitude that players always have the right to move to a "bigger" club (ie for more money) regardless of any current commitments. And I wouldn't want him, anyway. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

I'm wondering if we'll get a statement from the club. I'm guessing they're waiting to see what offers come in. If someone (not Liverpool) makes a sensible bid, the statement will be along the lines of "with regret, don't want to sell, but in the interests of the club.....". If not, I'd love to hear the TR is not accepted, he's still not for sale. But the bottom line, IMO, is that Chelsea and Man C both need him and he'll go to one or the other, quite late on, so I desperately hope we get the replacement in first. Thank you for expressing my thoughts exactly in a far more reasoned way than my frustrated comment of "b0ll0cks". Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

That really is utter b0ll0cks Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

But I do wonder how injured he was in the first place. If that coincided with meetings in Blackpool, I'd guess it was the first step. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

I need confirmation of this first paragraph. Never heard that before. And I'm sure that it wouldn't apply anyway if the player had been selected but refused to play, so I'm thinking this is gibberish. And Scouse gibberish too. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

And of course Sky are all over this now, lapping up his statement as proof of how awful Saints have been, and implying that he has to move now. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

It's been suggested that they're happier with the new manager having initially wanted out, but they are following the VVD saga closely and will not be happy if he gets his way. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
