You're probably right, but this is a win win option for May. Win with a big majority, and she can press ahead with no opposition. Unlikely, but if she's forced back into coalition and has to revoke A50 (which plenty of senior Tories are desperate to do), and she's got someone to blame. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Agreed. I've got serious doubts whether any reasonable deal can be done with the EU, and that could lead to a rebellion over the final terms. Better to try to give yourself absolute power now to avoid any arguments. And if she loses her majority, she'll have someone else to blame if we have to back down on Brexit, just like they blamed everything on the LibDems during the coalition. Agreed the LibDems got it wrong over student fees, but they were successful in moderating the Tories in many other ways, now largely forgotten. And the Tories very successfully used the one issue to discredit the LibDems. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

We wouldn't have to rejoin as we haven't left yet: just given notice. We could, in theory, just withdraw the Notice. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Because they're at a very low ebb, and dozens of Lab MPs stand to lose their seats. But I accept that they may see it as the only way to lose Jeremy. It's difficult to work out what Labour's platform can be. There is ostensibly support amongst party members for socialist values, but candidates won't stand in that basis and it won't deliver enough MPs. But if they try to gain the middle ground, they'll alienate a lot of grass roots members. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

The election isn't confirmed until she gets a 2/3 majority in the Commons. Labour will oppose, but I would think SNP plus the few LibDems will get her there. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Maybe not through the roof, but they'll get a lot of Remain voters switching to them and I guess they'll recover quite a few seats. Labour are in trouble. The majority of their MPs are totally at odds with the leader and grassroots support. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Not bad for a weekend. On balance, think I'd rather go there than Sunderland. Or Middleborough. Or Hull. ? Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

I've understood that she's not looking to sell out completely but is looking to relinquish a share in return for investment and expertise to develop the club's indirect activities, thus boosting revenue. This is needed to meet FFP regulations and necessary if we are to progress to a higher level. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Sadly totally sober, as I was driving. Probably why I was able to make a considered and insightful analysis of the game. ?? And sorry, can't get onto North Korea until Thursday. Monday is sorting ISIS, Tuesday post-Brexit mess and Wednesday Trump. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

I'm not sure Clasie would have been bullied any less than Ward-Prowse. He's not exactly a tower of strength. I guess Boufal was a throw of the dice when our game plan was shot. We know he can produce a goal out of nothing, but unfortunately at the moment he's just producing nothing. I also guess Gabbiadini isn't quite 100% so Long was given a chance. His pace might have worked, but didn't. As Puel said, we lost the game in the first half when we did the defensive bit well, keeping shape, frustrating them and limiting them mainly to long shots. But the other part of that tactic is to counter effectively, moving the ball fast (like their second), and we didn't do that - kept losing the ball when the clever pass was tried or losing momentum playing it safer. But you have to credit City for being very effective in pressing and intercepting when they lost the ball. Although we did manage three or four dangerous attacks, but needed Gabbiadini instead of Tadic on the end of them. The Tadic miss was pivotal, as was Maya's soft header. But none of that alters the fact that we were simply beaten by a better team. Nowhere near as bad as it will be if we fail to beat Hull. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

On the basis of his U23 games, he's not necessarily better than Stephens or Yoshida. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Oh dear, oh dear. Not sure I've got the energy to reply (I'm still on my way home) but here goes. Firstly, we could only play as well as they let us play, and they denied us space and intercept ed well. The tactics were sound, and as likely to get a result as any others. Certainly going gung-ho and giving them space would have been disastrous. It was, in fact, when we had to try that after they scored. The first half, we kept good shape, frustrated them and made a few chances, one of which needed to go in, but didn't. Another day, we could have got a result. The ref certainly didn't help. But give Puel credit. He's a decent manager. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

He wasn't that impressive in the last U23 game Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

We did take the game to them once they scored. What happened? And if you think Hojbjerg was our best midfielder, I look forward to welcoming you back from your parallel universe. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Ah well. That's over and basically we weren't bad for most of the game but we were never good enough. The game plan to play like an away team was good whilst we were holding them, not once they took the lead. Don't agree that we should have set up more aggressively - look what happened once we were open at the back. Knowing how City play out from the back and are vulnerable to the press, surprised Long didn't start with Gabby for later. Gabby never really got a look in and seemed less sharp. Ref did us no favours. The corner for the first goal came after a questionable free kick, but we defended it badly. Forster - very mixed. A couple of good saves, poor for first and third goals, rooted to his line. The defence all had decent games, Maya the best, but were weak like Forster on the first and third goals. And there was no attempt to cut out the cross for the last. Davis was my MOM, but couldn't play the holding role and create. Hojbjerg just not strong enough. I thought JWP worked hard but Redmond a Tadic just weren't functioning around him. The subs didn't make much difference. Boufal worries me, Shane ran but got no joy, was JRod there? Romeu is back now, Gabby has a week to get sharp. Blue line. Move on. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
