I agree. The European competitions are overrated and, for a club with the resources of Saints, overstretch the team and detract from PL performances. And since BT took over, I'm not that bothered, at least with the group stages. And losing a place would possibly curb the overhyping by Sky of the PL (and overpricing) and be a wake-up call. It's doubtful that it's the best league in the world. This season is seeing a levelling and the playing style of quite a few clubs, including "big" ones looks ponderous and old-fashioned. Agree with most of this except think we need to persist with Cedric. Cue derision, but JWP should start ahead of Clasie. He may not play the occasional great pass but does far more than some on here give him credit for - tackles, winning the ball, breaking up attacks, linking our play. Agreed, but apparently the alternative would be to try the whole case again with a new judge. The argument is that she has heard the evidence so she decides the sentence now it's been ruled that he was guilty of murder. Would assume that there is an appeal process if she hands down too lenient (or too long) a term. Don't know why the decision to change the verdict to murder couldn't be accompanied by a changed sentence too. Sent from my D6503 using Tapatalk

Liverpool were better than us. End of. They finished very clinically and although our overall play was OK, we weren't sharp enough to the second ball and didn't close down or press until too late in the game. No panic.
