I've noticed recently that women have far more front when it comes to taking things back or challenging shop staff than us blokes. Maybe we're not as passive-aggressive as women so elect not to start a confrontation in a shop unless under extreme circumstances.

I'd disagree with that in it's entirety. I have no wish for anyone to get harrassed, or even sacked, although if they've knowingly broken the terms of their employment contracts I won't have any sympathy. These are adults, who've chosen their political and moral compass, and if it repulses me I'm hardly going to have too much empathy with them, but I'm not a vindictive person.
