I think that this is a bit short-sighted. If (and it maybe a big if) the "MJ Bid" is accepted by Fry, then you have to assume it is the right bid. MJ may not have very good track record, but I assume that he is not putting any money in himself,and that he is just acting as an agent for those that are. The proof of any pudding is in the eating as they say and I think that Fry is probably good enough at his job to sort the wheat from the chaff (too many proverbs/metaphors - sorry) and accept the best bid. Let`s be honest, how many people thought that WGS was a good appointment when first announced? Now he is looked upon as a Demi-God! Let`s not do too much pre-judging.

Perhaps we will see how warlike some of the "Cyber Warriors" now.

The fact is that we don`t know if talks have broken down or not. The only "information" that any of us have is what is put forward on this forum. We are so desperate for news that we all (myself included) cling to any old tat that appears here. There is no problem with that - it meets some sort of need in us and in a perverse way is a bit of fun. We have to assume that Fry is good at his job and that he knows what he is doing. Lack of news could be looked at from both angles. It could be that things are going "tits up" or it could mean that Fry is playing one off against the other to get the best deal. The bottom line is that none of us actually KNOW what is going on (even those with the the most extreme opinions) so we need to let Fry do his job. Nothing that we do can change that. We need to be even more patient.

When I posted this (at around 8.50am) the programme was still going out live and the next sports news was due at 9.20am. As it was still live, no "listen again" facility was available. Presumably the programme (Julian Clegg) will be available to listen to again later today.

Report that Fry hope to anounce preffered bidder within 48 hours. There have been no bids at moment. He is frustrated that the main players don`t seem to be aware of the urgency to get things sorted out.
