Not impressed with Wotte "Fans are very easy with their judgement"
miserableoldgit replied to St. Jason's topic in The Saints
, I suspect that NP is "a demi-god" to some people for two reasons. Firstly, he would seem to have been a better option than what we have had,(in fact almost anything would be) and secondly he wasn`t given the chance to give it a go this season with his own team. Would he have been better than "The Dutch Experiment"? I don`t know more than anyone else - but I know what my guess would be. I didn`t have a problem with NP going, providing someone better was employed. -
But how do you know what is fair? As I said earlier on, prices in League 1will be considerably lower than ours at present. Until we know what division we are in, how do they know what to charge?

Sadly, what other form of positive action do the fans have? Although I was originally against boycotts or not buying ST`s I have come to the conclusion that it is the only way to make our opinions felt.

But surely most sensible "managers" would say "your job is to keep us up this season. Do that and we will negotiate a new contract at the end of the season dependant on what Division we are in"? -
2) If it had kept us in the Prem and made us competitive surely it would have been worth a punt? Its the way that football works. Are you saying that things would have been worse than they are now? 3) Sensible debate with who?? The whole problem is that, as ordinary fans, we feel (and are to a degree) helpless to do anything to influence what is happening at the club that we all love. We have people in charge who do not appear to want contact with its "customers" There is no "Customer Care Department" that we can contact to complain about "the product". The fans have only really turned since the Donny game. Prior to that there would have been plenty of opportunities for "Sensible debate", but when you have a "Dictator" who is allegedly only at the club 2 days a week, a Chairman of the Football Club who doesn`t even go to the AGM, what choice do you have? I may have misread your post Frank, but to me it did come across that most of the problems are down to the fans (again).

Saints Playing Monday / New Goalkeeper (Dutch?)
miserableoldgit replied to Gemmel's topic in The Saints
Rupert has them squeezed in his hand and won`t give them back. -

And ask him if he is aware of the apparent groundswell of opinion amongst ST holders who will NOT renew whilst he and Rupert are still at the club. This in some respects must/should be the most worrying thing for them. A lot of ST holders (like me) will renew even if/when we are relegated because we are first and foremost Saints fans, but will not if Spongebob and Patrick are still there. -

TBH, I think that it`s a perfectly acceptable opening gambit! -
if portsmuff can do it why cant we?
miserableoldgit replied to lordswoodsaints's topic in The Saints
His first managerial job was actually at Wycombe Wanderers, but I take your point. -
Hmmmmm........

Plus the fact that they do have 2 teams so what support there is, is split. -

Lowe has been true to form by having 3 managers already since he has been back. HE got rid of Pearson (O.K. the team didn`t play under him this season, but he was our manager when Spongebob and Patrick came back), and of course JP and now Wotte. I am not sure that having his FOURTH manager in less than a year would help us now. Sadly I think that we are stuck with what we have got, come hell or high water now. -
Les Miserables?

Or just a RUMOUR!

Any suggestions??:-k

Saints Greatest XI - The Best Managers Nominations
miserableoldgit replied to St Landrew's topic in Golden Posts
Tend to agree, but under Lawrie we appeared in 2 Wembley Cup Finals (one of which we obviously won), were VERY close to winning the First Division Championship and attracted players like KK, Peter Osgood, Peter Shilton, Charlie George, Alan Ball etc. A very difficult decision, but I think I will go with Big Mac. -
He used to call us "Chelsea-on-Sea"!

Don`t worry! It`s easy to get picked on by these WUM`s. It`s happened to me a couple of times before. Don`t spoil their enjoyment. It`s probably the highlight of their week.

To a degree, I don`t see how the club can do an "Early Bird" offer. If/when we are relegated, the price in League One will have to be considerably lower than at present. Until we know for certain where we will be next year how can they come up with realistic pricing?

I posed this question on another thread. Bearing in mind that Lowe supposedly wanted Wotte as Manager a few years ago, why did he appoint JP as Manager/Head Coach/Lapdog over him this season?

TBF, it does say that it is actually somebody else singing:- The mighty James Taylor covers DMX's "Party up". Gangsta. (Joe Cumia is the actual performer).

As someone who works in the house-building industry, and just about holding on to a job, I do see this as a positive glimmer. The health of our industry is a good indicator of how the economy in general is doing. I do appreciate what rising house prices mean to (particularly) first time buyers, but you can only buy a house, even a very cheap one, if you have an income.
