Heres where I live up to my username!! Just before 1.00pm on Saturday I went to my local Post Office. As I arrived a taxi pulled up outside and a young woman leapt out and rushed into the P.O. whilst the taxi waited outside. She said that she had come for her Gyro money, but she had just got up and had to rush before the P.O. closed. The guy gave her her £175 and said "Have a nice week-end" but she said that she was going back to bed, got back in the taxi, which was still waiting and shot off. I know it was Saturday but I can`t imagine that she spent much time looking for work and my taxes are paying for that taxi! Is it me??? Probably! Rant Over.:mad:

TBF it is not the results that are the problem. I was not expecting us to pull up trees, and as I indicated in the original post, the style of football actually gave me a quiet confidence about this season. It`s just that I felt that the squad was now fairly set and was looking forward to AD coming back. Losing him and possibly AS is the unsettling factor. It makes you wonder where the selling will end.

Apparently Crouch and "one other" paid the fee themselves to get AD here.

I remember the Sunday lunchtime do`s with the strippers and a comedian. One particular Sunday they had well known Skate Shep Wooley , who recorded the "Scummer" song as the comedy act and he bombed. He went off halfway through his act pretending that his guitar strings had broken but the management made him come out and finish!

It seems that the financial situation is ruling everything at the moment so on a financial front why are we paying big wages to players that we are not playing. I know that there are contractual obligations (ha bloody ha) but this does not make any sense at all. Whatever anybody says about how good the kids are -and I don`t disagree - logic says that if we can`t get rid of our high wage earners we should bloody well use them!:confused:

Having read the OS bit, I`m not sure that he has actually clarified it. Still confusing.

I wish that I could dismiss the problems with throwaway "witty" remarks like some posters on here. I am not a great fan of (for example) Jason Euell but he has had a long career in professional football so he can`t be a "turd" or Micheal Barrymores pool pal. We employ him and we are paying big wages. When he has played in pre-season he hasn`t done too badly. He did (please correct me if I am wrong) score goals in friendlies. WHY IS HE NOT EARNING HIS WAGES???

Sorry it`s not that simple. Whatever you think of (for example) Euell, he is experienced he is capable of score goals from midfield and he is earning high wages. Why not at least have him on the bench and earn some of his money?

It also makes you wonder why these high earners that we cannot get rid of are sitting around doing nothing whilst being paid their high wages. Why are they not in the squad? Why are we not making them EARN their money.:confused:

I have to say that despite all of the goings-on at SMS during the last few months, I actually felt reasonably upbeat and quitely confident about the new season. I had seen enough in the pre-season friendlies to make me think that we may surprise a few teams. I wasn`t over duly worried that we would probably lose some of the high earners as long as we kept Andrew Davies and Stern John. All in all making the best of a bad situation I thought, events over the last 36 hours have give my (misplaced?) confidence a kick up the ass. The likely loss of AD for £1.5M, the "Surman to Reading" rumours, JPs somewhat downbeat comments after the game and his body language on the touchline yesterday (after being so animated during the pre-season games) really worry me. Yesterdays first half was probably the best football that I have seen from a Saints team for many years, but is this going to be enough?

Some papers this morning reporting that he may be going back to West Ham, his first (or is it second) "spiritual home"!

One of the national papers the day after VS played at half time during the match described the lead singer (I wonder who he was?) as "a clown baiting the Leeds fans".

The thing that concerned me yesterday was that JP did not seem very animated on the touchline. During the pre-season friendlies he was. Reading his rather downbeat comments, coupled with the "Surman to Reading" rumours this morning may go some way to explaining his body language yesterday.

Which club has the better chance of a quick return to the Prem? Surman is not Prem class at the moment.

Quite agree but it does however concern me that we are probably always going to let goals in (unless we get some experience in at FB) so we have to take our chances and score. Remember Keegans first spell at Newcastle? His attacking style left them vulnerable at the back, but their attacking ability outweighed this. I felt reasonably confident with Andrew Davies coming back that we had the makings of a good defence - but now. :mad:

You`re quite right. Spurs are one of those clubs that consider themselves to be "one of the Big Boys" without really ever backing it up. Living on past glories. Although TBF I don`t actually hate them but I do have a good laugh at them at times.
