  1. Has he had a word with Van Persi?
  2. Fairy muff. I honestly hadnt seen him get that tittle before you posted it. I might have read it but not realy noticed it. Most of what I had seen was more towards the other roles that have been mentioned and I hadnt really given that much to them either. we may be splitting hairs a little too finley which is why every little word gets scrutinised so much. Like Ponty said the only thing that matters is if we survive. If we were winning the battle against relegation im sure most of us wouldnt give a toss about a job title
  3. lol there was a fair few to choose from
  4. His name is an anagram of: Am Lech I Wiled and Malice Whiled
  5. He has a Football 1st manefesto
  6. Did you not read my previous posts where I was talking about the Europeen model for management? Head coach and a team of assistants. Wotte being one of them. His role was explained in more detail several times and it was always further towards the acadamy than the 1st team. Most of the quotes you have put above can be taken both ways and as such I am not sure the club were tottaly sure what plan they were actually trying to hatch. The quotes leave more than enough doubt when trying to think of what system they are trying to take on. But due to talking about the Dutch Tottal football, Seemless link between acadamy through to 1st team, Discuss everything and work as a team, pretty much all of the quotes you have said. It does suggest to me that they were at least trying to head down the European thinking and as such Wotte might not have been considered as the Assistant Manager from within the club. Where was he on match days? I cant remember seeing him on the touchline where you would expect to find the 1st team coach/Assistant manager? I thought Hocaday was there with JP? Not trying to defend him as he obviously had a part to play in the 1st 2/3's of the season but IMO some of us are looking at the system like it is the English Manager and Assistant manager when it could well be the Head coach and his team of assistants all with various jobs to do.
  7. Im defo up for 45 mins and I would suggest that there will be more than enough people to fill a match with 1 half each. If everyone has got the choice of going for the full 90 mins then Im guessing they could fill up before many others get a chance to have there go. Ive also got a mate down this way who would be up for it if we need the extra numbers but I wont give him the nod unless we dont get enough from on here.
  8. I think thats the 1st and only time I have seen him refered too as that. Almost everwhere else refers to him as the link between the acadamy and the 1st team which is what I based my reasoning on. From the above I think its clear that the club wernt as sure about which way they were heading and what they and the new team wanted. Could just be a mistake and he was introduced wrong and no-one picked it up, but IMO i think the club just didnt actually think through what they were trying to do. Idea sounds good in theory but it needed to be absolutly spot on for it to work and I think we all know it wasnt even close.
  9. I said before that it can be read 2 different ways. All of the back room staff are there too assist the man in charge. does that make them all Assistant managers? The English way of doing things is to have a Manager and an Assistant Manager and then the rest. The European way is to have a Head Coach and his Assistants. Collectivly they are all Assistants and they all have there own job to do. Wotte was also explained as the link between the Acadamy and the 1st team. If he was the Assistant manager that so many are trying to suggest dont you think that would be a p|ss poor role to have? 2nd in command and you get to train the kids while Hockaday gets to sit in the dug out each mach. Think the translation of the quotes you posted is different than what is being made out.
  10. The players were all there to assist Jan too and so was Hockaday and all the other staff. Doesnt make them all assistant managers though and Wotte never claimed to have that role.
  11. I think the quotes can be read either way and its easy to see where each side of the argument is coming from. Personally i see it more the same as you but that doesnt mean he doesnt have a share of the blame for the 1st 2/3 of the season. I dont think its fair to hang JP out to dry when they were brought in together but I also dont think Wotte was the leader in the mess up that preceeded his 1st team appointment.
  12. Not sure if anyone wants to know but got a mail from gaffa regarding the incodent during the saints v cardiff game Hi Jay Next Tuesday theyre geting him back over to us here. He is going to the best hospital for this treatment ,its an horrific place but its where he needs to be. Good phone call yesterday from Southampton Police. " Hi is that Gareth " Yes " its Southampton Police here. can you pop in to see us " POP IN its 170 miles from here " Oh ok can you drive down to se us " first class phone call. 13. Managers are made or broken on the back of results. Nothing else matters most of the time. but when it appears there is argument in favour of something lowe has done all the other comparrisons come out of the wood work. I agree with the rest though and think the differing situations kind of ballence each other out and the only thing that may be compared will be survival or relegation come the end of the season. how we get there is not important so there should be no need for a p|ssing contest based on results.
  14. Im glad im not the only one who thinks that they are trying to rip us off. the whole licensing of internet radio is arse up and is penalising people just because they dont live in the area. And they wonder why people look for ways to crack passwords? lol
  15. think there are too many things to consider to actually come up with a decent comparrison. they both have/had a really tough job to do with different circumstances. 1 made it and the other still has work to do. Hats off to both of them if we still in the CCC next season.
  16. I said earlier I dont think its fair that they should count but he could have sat in the stands and let those who picked the team take the game. he was on the touch line telling them all how to play and he made the subs and factually that game goes down as 1 for him. Like i said its not nice but its the facts. Wotte wouldnt get the same graces because he was already at the club, JP got to a game late didnt he and didnt have enough time for the pre match talk so should that game not get put down to him? Wotte is doing well considering and Pearson turned things around so they both get credit from me. Not being arsy but dont think its fair to exclude games to make it look a little better for him
  17. So why was the plymouth game excluded?
  18. Personally I think Wotte has got a harder job to do and comparing last seasons acheivments to this seasons hopefull survival I would say Wotte did better than Pearson did. I would rather still have Pearson here though and think although it could have gone better for him last season he would have done very well for us this season. I think some get confused about what is trying to be said when comparing last seasons efforts to this. I doubt there are many that would actually want Wotte here ahead of Pearson but just because some people think Wottes job is a little harder this season it doesnt mean they think he is a better manager. To really judge them both I supose Wotte will have to keep us safe this season and have us at least challenging for Automatic promotion next season as Pearson is doing. Only the difference in doing it in the CCC may go to suggest 1 is better than the other. Cant see that happening though so the comparison will probably keep swinging each way every week to give us something to talk about.
  19. lol well i didnt say I bought into the 6 degrees thing, just suggested that if it is right then collectivly we should be able to get the message out there at least. dunno if scientist (or people doing random things just get a degree and a few letters after there name) are still trying to prove the theory or not but if we manage to find a buyer based on that theory we can claim to prove it befor they do and they will then have to find somit else to waste another year on lol
  20. Only pace i got is my surname lol
  21. why does Pearson not get the Plymouth game? I was there and he was barking orders and changing tactics It might not be very fair but if he didnt want the credit for that game he could have watched from the stands. IMO its 2 different seasons and 2 different situations so not easy enough to compare.
  22. Look the Becks idea might be a bit far fetched as although he would have the money there is very little reason for him to actually have any interest in us. But the idea of us as fans advertising that the club is for sale is not such a bad one. Showing that we are worth buying or what the potential is when we are the biggest club on the south coast. the surrounding area and so on. that 6 degree's of seperation thing if even remotley true means that we have all got access to some big money people through a few people and there is no reason why we cant collectivly put the club up for sale and try to get the message accross. we could of course just let Rupes carry on Yo Yo'ing in and out of the club or of course let us go into admin and risk losing the club altogether. I know what I would rather but it wont help if its just one or 2 thinking this way.
  23. I rate myself as pretty crap but if im paying to play 45 mins then ill be playin 45 mins. if losing is down to me then so be it but im not turning up planning to walk away with any winners medels lol
  24. dont think the teams need to actually be divided as luvvies and anti's as recent polls suggest that there is no such divide but for publicity it would make a better story if it does get to be news worthy of course. Put me down for anywhere in the mid field as i cant defend too good and im not quick enough to be a striker. will save getting hammered till after as I wanna remember doing my best impressions of a football player for ever lol
  25. I mentioned much earlier in the thread about trying to make a bit more about this. I know we are all prepared to put our bit in to cover costs but I reckon if its done as a luvvie vs anti grudge match tongue in cheek type of thing then it could attract a bit of publicity and some sponsorship from some local companies including SMS which will raise a little extra and given to a local charity or group. Could be anything from a local youth club to a hospice or something. Personally I would just love the chance to play on the pitch but it wouuld be nice if we as a group could do a little more and help some people out.
