  1. my point is there is no way of telling. 2000 is as much of a rediculas guess as 15.
  2. amazed he is even starting after so long out. odds must be high on him getting injured again huh
  3. sounds even on the best chances now and even on teams looking like winning something.
  4. yeah heard we have gone forward a few times but that forrest chance sounds like its been the best chance of the game so far. dont think this game is going to ever feel like we will be in control so twichy bum time in the final 10 mins even if we are 3 or 4 up me thinks.
  5. yeah those 15 people are really hurting our club!!!!
  6. half listening while working. how we doin?
  7. check your inbox
  8. there is always one. lol found it on match console for anyone else that is still looking.
  9. Anyone know if it will be on a radio link anywhere?
  10. But thats where making us 2nd to none in terms of the quality and opertunities we can offer the youth of the future comes in. Say you have a 10 year old that is being scouted by some of the big clubs from all over the place, you want them to have the best oppertunities but your options within an hour of you are the teams that have rubbish acadamys or the top prem teams that only have a youth system to fulfil the league guidlines. So your looking around for a club that can turn a talented kid into the next lampard or rooney. With this in mind do you stick where you are or make changes so that your in the catchment area of the club that can provide the best? That situation would only come about should we prove we are the team to bring kids too and our policy pays off, again we are miles away from that now but I think it is where the club wants to be some times in the future. And I dont expect familys with 10 year olds to be uprooting all over the place on a hunch that there kid will be something special. I have a 10 year old daughter who I think will make a pretty decent winger and have thought a few times that if she were a lad it would be worth us living back near southampton in order to get the best chances. And that is just based on the youth system we have had in the past and nothing to do with the next level they are trying to take the youth system.
  11. Isnt this what Rupes has hinted at what our club is aiming to aspire to though? I think the policy we have is there to not only make the use out of our acadamy but also to attract some of the best youth in the country to want to come to us and join our acadamy, therefor giving us the pick of the best youngsters available to us. Holands approach on the youth system right accross the country is light years ahead of anything in England and Ajax are the team that seem to have benifited the most. Maybe because traditionally they are one of the big teams but there policy on bringing through youth has both made and kept them as one of the big teams in Holand. We are miles away and I think if we just became a stable team in the prem with a strong youth policy it would be a minor miricle and something that should be applauded. In fact just to survive in the CCC right now would seem like winning the champions league to most of us. Using the youth system will always be a source of revenue to the club as it is at Ajax but if each year we can bring through 3 kids and sell 1 then we will be making more progress in the youth system than anyone else and become stronger for it.
  12. But it worked and I dont see how a club can be judged on its future.
  13. Only way this system will change IMO will be if the coaching set up changes. 4-3-3 is being played from top to bottom so just because we lose 1 player the whole club wont change its system. We have Euell, Gasmi, McGoldrick, BWP, all able to play in the whole with White out on loan that can also play there. Paterson and Robertson and even Euell can play the lone striker role so its not like we dont have options. We just dont have many good options.
  14. I thought it read that a club had to include 4 players that had been on there books for at least 3 years before there 18th birthday. Dont think it stretches to the Prem as yet. If it is how I read it then it will surly effect more clubs but like i said before it doesnt make our club as exclussive.
  15. Surly the only way our policy of playing youth will only benifit us if we are the only club doing it and therefor attracting the best youth to us? If every club have to play youth then the kids will have more choice of what club to go to as they will have the same chances of getting 1st team football.
  16. Sorry I wasnt trying to compare us with Ajax or anyone else. Just pointing out that there is another team that have a very strong youth policy and have been very succesful in the past. Bringing through one or two players from the youth system every year is much stonger than any of our clubs in the prem. Weather we can even remotly emulate them is a completly different question and I doubt it is possible. I think if we had money available then we wouldnt be going head first into this system and we would have a better pick of experience to bring our youth into.
  17. Ajax anyone?
  18. LOL @ you just because I dont think like you I am a Luvvie? Dont think so alps. Ive come up with reasonable alternatives all built on big IF's and I have also put forward a decent plan to get Lowe moved on without ruining our club. Sitting in your armchair calling names doesnt get anything done and to be honest makes you look a bit of a prat mate.
  19. Who are we having a go at today and for what?
  20. he was basically saying that as we have so many kids in the team sometimes its better to play more kids that are already on the same wavelength due to playing so much together already. it wasnt a dig at Euell as such. We all think that the team needs players like Euell to give the kids direction and leadership so would have him in the team. jan thinks that if you have 4 kids that know each others games inside out why split them up by replacing 1 of them with a older player that has a different outlook on the game? i can see his point to a degree but personally I think without Euell the ballence is not right and he does add to the team. Of all the experienced players we have had at the club Euell has adapted the most and tried to fit in any system that he has been asked.
  21. Didnt we take him knowing he had some knee trouble? I think the club knew he had trouble but knew what was needed to fix it and knew they would have a pretty good player because of it. The club couldnt have foreseen the pressure he would have got from his country to play anyway though which like you said probably caused even more problems. cant just blame his country though, on more than 1 occasion he did a disapearing act and left us wondering what was going on.
  22. As much as it pains me to say that I think he is the best we got right now...... Does the guy really deserve his own sticky???? Would it be better to have a sticky called "Please someone come and buy our club!" or "Saints For Sale" then as fans it can be our job to post the link absolutly everywhere in the hope that some rich bugger loses his marbles and snaps us up.
  23. Lowe got stick for bringing him here but to be fair he was a quality player. dont think he ever wanted to leave his home country though which was his and our downfall. I think he could have got fit and could have done very well for us but acted like a home sick kid and stiffed us well and truely.
  24. I didnt realise the nominations were up on Sunday afternoon either. I was wandering why the nominations from saturday were not used, which explains why quite a few players that played there best football was at RW and are not in this list and others are. Completly understand about MLT though but like someone else has said he is in danger of not getting into the A team at all because there have been several specialist position players which might get in ahead of him in this format. Cant do anything about that though so he will be where he is put.
