Whereas your name describes you so well. I used to dance professionally - that's why I'm so annoyed.

Thanks for your help B but I'm confused now. I'd always understood that it's not possible to replace the battery and Mr TF thinks the same. It's a 3GS, not a 3G as I posted earlier. But you think I can replace the battery?

The Spending Review (tackling the Socialists debt mountain)

I thought the visual display of the data was easy to follow. Perhaps the article should have named the source of the information. However, this Wiki article gives broadly the same level / percentages although for two / three years earlier and attributes its information to the OECD and the WHO http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_total_health_expenditure_(PPP)_per_capita -
I bet one or two on here absolutely loved it when she displayed her huge yellow bloomers. The woman's an embarrassment to herself - it seems to me that some viewers are deliberately hijacking the show, for what purpose I don't know. It's such a shame when the other dancers put in so much hard work whilst she obviously doesn't. Tough on Felicity Kendall too - same age as AW, hard as that is to believe.

Well, on Friday night I charged it up fully (having tried the old let it run right down trick) and by Saturday evening there was no charge left. I'd used it for one text and one 5 minute phone call. No interweb use, no photos, no videos. That's not right, surely?

Although if you take the trouble to read the link I posted yesterday: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10375877 together with this: http://www.visualeconomics.com/healthcare-costs-around-the-world_2010-03-01/ you will see that we are one of the lowest spending countries (measured by percentage of GDP) AND one of the most efficient. Can't ask a lot more than that, really. -

Slightly off tangent - does anyone know if I have any 'rights' regarding my iPhone? It seems to me that I have to have it constantly on charge as it drops charge quicker than a blink of the eye. It's 18 months old (3G)

You can buy a canal boat trip that allows you to hop on and off at places of interest.

I'm watching an excellent BBC 1 programme right now called 'Country Tracks'. I'm especially interested because it's centred around the Chilterns, an area I know and love. Part of the programme was devoted to Whipsnade Zoo and Esther Rantzen revisiting it and recalling her childhood. She was talking about the difficulties Jewish families faced in WW2 and explained that her father worked for the BBC (as an engineering designer). She said his job was 'exempt' (from call-up I suppose) because of the huge importance of the BBC in broadcasting to both UK citizens but also to the wider world and to counter-balance Nazi propaganda. We shouldn't ever forget the role of the BBC in times of national disaster or celebration. It's the best in the world and should always be kept free from commercialisation and the inevitable dumbing down that that would bring.

I wonder why that should be? Could it be because it's a service that we all use, at one time or another, from cradle to grave as they say? Could it be because we have an ageing population, being kept alive by proactive health education and reactive treatments? Could it be because we're able to undertake radical procedures using hi-tech equipment that costs huge amounts to install and operate? Could it be because the drug companies are finding new treatments on a daily basis to treat and even cure conditions that would have killed us all off only a few years ago. And that those treatments can cost thousands of pounds a year for each patient? A recent report found that our Health Service was in the top 3 of efficient health services in the world, in terms of value for money. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/10375877 -
