  1. There are two problems with a hung parliament IMO. 1. It causes a loss of confidence in the global economy that is never sure which way said parliament will jump. 2. It hands disproportionate power to minor parties who will ally themselves to whatever policy suits them best. This leads to wishy-washy politics driven by a party / parties who do not command even a large minority of the vote. I would rather Cameron formed a strong government than have a nebulous, indefinable hung or minority government. However, obviously, I would rather Brown formed a strong Labour government
  2. How then would you propose that political parties are funded? By the state? That's fine if it's a level playing field. But you would then have to ban multi-millionaires making huge donations to the Conservatives. Like tax-dodging Lord Ashcroft. Would you be happy for that to happen?
  3. Although, TBF, Cable agreed with Darling more than he did with Georgie Porgie
  4. Surely you're not planning on being a ticket tout
  5. sterling (deliberate spelling mistake in case StL is watching)
  6. I thought Osborne did better than I expected But it was pretty tame and there wasn't actually that much time to debate, which was a shame.
  7. Yeah we've registered for the opening and closing ceremonies too. The problem with events like cycling / rowing / sailing is that you see the start or the end or any point in between. Whereas with athletics / gymnastics / swimming you can at least see the whole event. We've also registered for track cycling - I think that's really exciting although I don't understand some of the races.
  8. Then you will have caller display, surely?
  9. Ooerrr Hamster - are you teasing me again?
  10. Oh my all-time favourite er soap :smt102
  11. There is a scheme called Telephone Preference Service whereby you can block calls. However, I think a lot of these are randomly dialled so I don't know whether the TPS would be able to deal with those.
  12. No you're not. Your opening words were 'on another note'.
  13. Hmm - just up the road from me Shall I pop in and put him straight? If he's a buddy of Mike Ashley then why doesn't he buy NU? Makes much better commercial sense.
