I think Villa sussed out that they needed to push onto our two full backs and stop them marauding forward because first half they were given the freedom of the park and played like wingers especially KWP. Once Villa solved this by pushing them back we were much less of a threat. Something for Ralph and the coaches to work on maybe. Overall we were good value for the 3 points because their keeper made two superb saves.

Their keeper made two worldie saves, McCarthy did not need to.

Got to do something about these poor second half performances. Blowing out of our arses, lost all composure and nearly gifted Villa something after completely dominating first half. Reminded me of Newcastle away.

Need Broja and Diallo

Played some good stuff and should have created/scored more. Great goal from Adam, hope it gets him going now. Time for JWP to give someone else a go on corners. Not a fan of the Salisu long throw - watch us score from one in the second half. Would like to see Broja early in the second half....he'll scare these shitless.

Even a bit rusty he is more clinical than Che and Adam. Stuart Armstrong can create along with Che or Arma who you describe as creators. Personally the first thing I expect a striker to do is score goals and if he creates chances for others all well and good. I'm disappointed Broja is on the bench so now the others must step up to the plate and be clinical when the chances come along.

Broja is a striker not a number 10. His job is to score goal and so far he's done that better than Che and Adam.

I still don't get this call to start Broja on the bench. He is our best striker and we need him from the start. Right on cue the team news and Ralph sticks him on the bench. Hope he doesn't regret it and ends up having to bring him on to chase the game. Big chance for Che and Adam to show why Ralph has such confidence in them so we'll see if they take it.
