  1. Ah fair enough. I thought you had picked out the players. I did think that would have been alot of effort 😂 TBF I don't know the players well enough either, those ones just stood out to me.
  2. If you're going to do a comparison than you need to go like for like. So if you're including players that play out wide but can also play upfront then you need to do the same for Saints. BBD, Gallagher, Conway etc. then you need include Dobbin for Saints.
  3. I wouldn't say there is much difference between the two. Certainly not by a distance. Peretz wants to be here and is presumably on lower wages which is why he would be my number 1.
  4. Yep a player good enough for a promotion chasing team. It's all about priorities and available funds. Should we be using any remaining funds on replacing him? Or elsewhere in the team like a Charles replacement. If we get to the Prem then we would need to replace.
  5. We dropped him when we were in the Prem. We are not in the Prem anymore. Stephens is perfectly fine in the Championship as shown last season.
  6. Was the quote talking directly about Bazunu or in general?
  7. Looking at his stats the majority of these are in the German 3rd and 4th tier though. I'm not passing judgement as I know nothing about him so cant pass comment if he is decent or not.
  8. Ah fair enough, you clearly have far more knowledge on the subject than me here. Let's just hope if they do have one it's a small one.
  9. I don't believe they can have one. I cant remember where I read/heard this but he was too young for it to be a transfer as he would have been too young to have a professional contract and a tribunal wouldn't award Chelsea anything because they only trained him for a few months.
  10. Fully agree and our hands were tied with the contract situation aswell. It's one of the ones where we got a very good few fee in the circumstances but it could look like a bargain to Everton in a few years time.
  11. He seems a sensible signing to me. Attracting players that will be good enough to play in the Prem for a current Championship team is difficult and expensive in both transfer fees and wages. To me this seems like a good signing for a championship team and one that should be ok to do a job for a newly promoted team if we go up. If we don't sign anyone because they are not Brentford current levels then we would be signing no-one this summer.
  12. St Chalet is correct.... In his scenario the balance (Net Book Value) on the Balance Sheet would be £5m as in the previous two years we had written down £5m (£2.5m cost to the P&L each year) of the value. So in this case when we sell for £10m we would recognise £5m of profit in year which helps with FFP or whatever it is now called. Of course in real terms that doesn't mean we are £5m better off as we sold for what we bought the player for plus we would have paid 2 years of wages etc.
  13. No, whatever someone identifies as, they're welcome at St Mary's.
  14. I think you're letting your bias get in the way of objectivity here. It was a really good save (not world class as Hypochondriac has pointed out but still a really good save), even the Watford commentators who don't have any bias towards Bazunu were saying what a good save it was.
  15. Are you talking about the save in the 2nd half low to his right that he tipped round the corner?
