  1. Hoping he can take his chance here! would rather have mara vs che, he is young and very talented, much higher cieling if he can live up to his potential.
  2. https://www.football365.com/news/which-players-force-most-premier-league-manager-sackings-goals Always thought we got a few fired, check the list, we have a few in there: Players who induced two manager exits (39) Che Adams Chris Wilder at Sheffield United Antonio Conte at Spurs Rickie Lambert Mark Hughes at QPR Malky Mackay at Cardiff Players who induced four manager exits (one) James Ward-Prowse Claudio Ranieri at Fulham Quique Sanchez Flores at Watford Chris Wilder at Sheffield United Antonio Conte at Spurs
  3. I have been wondering the same thing, Burnley won the championship with possesion based football(pbf), and now are in relegation form in the PL. ManC are credited with with this PBF but have the supieriority of coach and players. Thus can a budget team pull off PBF in tbe PL? Watched Manuure and cespool game where manu tried to play out of the back, @#$% disasterous. A good pressing tean like liverpool had them panicking and giving the ball away in Manures half, this is a billion dollar team!! Then i watched the impressive Brighton who have been punching above thier weight in this league for a few years, they play an excellent build up from the back. So SFC are also implementing PBF, we were poor in the beginning, but are drastically better at it now. Our first game against SW we passed for passing sake, our first look at RM ball, I was so angry we didn't go after more goals as SW were very poor. We needed to practice our final 1/3 ball movement to score more goals which we so poor at last year. BUT keeping an open mind to what RM was trying to accomplish, learning his methods, the endless PBF vs goals, goals, goals. I now get it. We needed to get the movement of the ball and players at the back to be right first, and it has taken a while, but we look much better, confident and assured with PBF. I now see our attacking play develope into predictable movement, passages of play that are practiced, not off the cuff like we were last year. I like learning the tactics of different managers, and the polar opposits from RH ball (high press on steriods) to RM (keep till you sleep) is interesting, and learning the merits and pitfalls of both. As a defensive player, I loved playing the 3rd option, Postecoglou (TOT HOT SQUIRTS) High defensive line, pushing teams up to halfway line, fast cb ready for the chip over, condensed lines never far apart blocking trough balls. Really using the defence's one "super power" of offsides. But we play PBF, and well enough now that teams respect our play out from the back. If we have the Blackburhs that come at us, we cand have them chasing the ball, tiring them out, ideal for us. Then there is Coventry, they sat back and let us come to them, we worked harder moving around at the back then them! Leaving us to break down a team willing to take defensive positions and hope for fast counter attacks.
  4. Lets not kid ourselves, You are a poor judge of ability, and contradict yourself.
  5. Alcaraz is young and talented, which we need to encourage to flourish. His penalty showed his character, big balls to step up, cheeky to try the chip, the emabarrasment on his face, and the humbleness to appologise after he thump in the goal from desire to make amends. As for our other recent additions, I like Mara got to show he is also very talented. He is still raw but his awards and intl games show how talented this kid is. Edozie showed again he is the best step over, step over, step over...oooops gotcha, step over again... i have seen at his age. Great close controll and a few nice goals. Airbo, no go.....is no more, now see what we were buying. Over the past few games his size, power, ball shielding, driving forward with pace adds more bully to our team. STU mom for me, but all played very well. Well done RM, the style you employ is maturing. We are on a great unbeaten run, looking much more comfortable with all that passing at the back and the forward play is evolving with player more assured of their roles and patrern of play. We are improving as a team, young talented players to keep improving, i think we can overcome that 10 point gap.
  6. Well done Gazza, shows we did see a good keeper in there all those years ago.
  7. The issue is they seem to judge very quickly and harshly. This type of support would never have seen JWP develope and more recently Baz, AA etc. YES, they are free to give thier opionions on players ability, and i have the right to have an opinion on thier short sighted, shite views of players they have hardly seen play.
  8. Why are we sooooo quick to judge a player who has hardly had any game time in a team that was playing poorly. From what little i have seen of him, he deffinitely has some pace and technical ability (small sample). So i wait to see if he will be given the chance to show what he can do. It is silly to write off a player without giving him a fair shot at proving his worth. Players maligned like Baz, AA, Beds,SB, Airbo, Mann, Bree etc are all improving or proving they are good players after some shaky beginnings. Will Mara have people back peddling on thier "no, not good enough" opionion? Will people step back and give players time to show thier worth? I just hope we all support a SFC player as long as he is trying to do thier best, they may not make the grade and it is up to the club to decide thier fate.
  9. Post-game, Martin lamented his side’s mentality in games, particularly when it comes to being 1-0, “We have a bit of a problem at 1-0 up, at the minute. Everything we spoke about in the break, the opposite happened really”. This is not the first time he has stated the team has not done what was discussed at half time. The players seem to fall back to bad habbits?
  10. RM possesion stye has started to take shape and players are improving and proving it can be a successful way to play. From the fist game of a thousand passes ( passing for passing sake?), and defensive fragility when passing out from the back seemed like a recipie for a boring, disaster football. But now our players understand his stlye and as a team and individually are improving rapidly. We are moving the ball outta defence much better with better movement and option to pass to. I see the manager and team evolving into this possesion based system, it is such a diff from RH ball that we really needed time to change the whole phlisophy. Even the possesion ball is starting to evolve from mindless easy safe passing among the defence, into moving the ball to open up or expose a weakness in the oppo. I am just getting to see what RM ball is and it ain't bad. He has stuck to his principal ideas and the team and points have improved. It not as slow and boring as i first feared and he has shown he can get the team moving forward with good passing and movement.
  11. We are now an EFL club and are lucky enough to have the finacial power to outbid most clubs in this league. But we are still shopping in EPL price bracket, over 10 mil for champ teams is record breaking! Got no issue with this if they are worth it ( not sure woods should be over 10 m). At this level we should be getting in a few 4-5 mil prospects (like the abberdeen kid or sunderlands) that will not be a huge tranfer fee or wages. I see Leeds bidding for players around those prices. Got to be a few more hidden gems out in the football world.
  12. This makes no sense? Getting the ultimate goal of the big bucks EPL is the deffinition of club progress! What Luton does with the EPL monies will decide future success. Will they spend big to stay in the PL, will they pocket most of the monies and if relegated use that and parachutes to continue grow the club into stable club that can compete for pl regular.
  13. Blast from the past still at it. According to Fabrizio Romano, Ryan Bertrand, who did not make a single appearance last season due to a knee injury, is fit again and training with Chelsea's loan development group.
  14. Leeds United are striving to sign Joel Piroe, who has been targeted by Everton this summer. Sean Dyche will have to act fast if he still harbours any ambitions of bringing Piroe to Goodison Park. However, it seems that the Merseyside club have opted to set their sights on Southampton forward Che Adams instead. Leeds interest to the next level with moves for Swansea striker Joel Piroe, Rangers maestro Glen Kamara and Genk man Joseph Paintsil on the cards. Looks like Neverton, broke ass FFP dogers are holding up the proceess! Will RM be the decider if Neverton finally play their hand, last transfer day scamble? Will we have the upper hand if PAintsil does move to EFL?
  15. So you thought it was a pen? Did you watch the game? Why would you have thought it was a pen? You seem to see the opposite of what Saints supporters see. Were you furious Plym didnt get it?
  16. KRC Genk ‘refuse to give up’ on a move for Southampton striker Paul Onuachu, who is keen on the return to his former club. How many in this Genk team worth taking as they have little money to buy back outright. https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/krc-genk/kader/verein/1184 Another bidding war/spat, Everton/Monaco? French side AS Monaco table €25m to sign Southampton winger Kamaldeen Sulemana who is being chased by @Everton in the ongoing Summer transfer. ABK NEWS:Borussia Dortmund’s financial constraints mean that they will not be able to spend the 20 million euros being demanded by Southampton. Southampton are looking to sign Mason Holgate on loan from Everton, but there is a gap in the wages each club are willing to pay. Arsenal could turn to Southampton defender Kyle Walker-Peters as a potential signing before the summer transfer deadline. Southampton weighing up move for Newcastle United midfielder Isaac Hayden. With good relations with Chelsea and Poch, how about a loan for Lewis Hall? Southampton have completed the impressive signing of Jamaican international attacker Atlanta Primus on a free transfer. All 24 EFL Championship club's home atmosphere in order from worst to best (Ranked), we are ranked 8th best.
  17. Why woudn't you put a sell on cluase for our wanted best players? Tino and Lavia had them, yet we still bought them. Brighton sold Caceido for over 100 mill with a sell on clause. Our transfer team need to sit with Brightons and see what strong armed tactics they use to always get the absolute best deal they want on their terms. It is an added layer of negotiations that a modern club needs to get savy about. It should be a tool for us selling clubs that takes the chance on young, raw players, who get heads turned by the big clubs after we polished up those gems.
  18. The ONLY moaning that the FA heard was the big boys getting cheated out by bad ref decisions. All those years we smaller clubs saw dicisions going to the big clubs, the FA were ok with that. They introduce VAR and in a few months they had tweeked it to help the chosen few. It is now a usefull tool for the FA to gurantee they can keep the status quo happy. If VAR was used, would we have gotten that KWP penalty, in real time it looked like a reckless barge from behind. But on replay not so convincing as Kwp "creates" the foul buy stepping across the def? Also, didn't the new rules about contact in the box "pull or push, no attempt at playing the ball" was supposed to be a straight red card? Would have been harsh, but i didn't make those new rules.
  19. I am more upset that 10 players cannot get near them. Those were very good goals, all tucked, all unchallenged, 10 statues, with a short keeper reaching for the air.
  20. WHAT IS ALL THIS PIROE SHITE??? Where is there a link to us ? Do you people read this forum? The only rumor i see is Piroe is (sticking it to swansea) not resigning a new contract, wants to go to Italy and can do as soon as January. No wish to stay in EFL. So "Matty" unless you know something, stop suggesting him every few pages as if he is only Striker in the world.
  21. Yes what a useless sub. Went from Edozie who was dribbiling, tricking and sprinting past his man......to Airbo, never taking on his man (who Tella had rinsed and worn him down) and making the simple pass of 5 yrds back to saftey with no pressure on him???? REALLY? were you watching the opponent? Were you not salivating to get on the field against that shite? I was begging for him to take on his man as an attacking winger that is fresh, just once! So dissapointed, hope to see more from him.
  22. 3 fucking points!! Whoohoo. We are TOP OF THE LEAGUE!!!!! this is not a well liked post, but i agree! 600 useless passes at back. SLOW build up, we get down the wings to pass all the way back? If we had drawn or lost, 900+ record breaking passes would mean fuck all. We almost threw that away with that passive passing. What i saw in the first 10 min should have gave us confidence to go at that L1 team, we are a PL team with PL players and the difference in class was there to see. That was a team who stood off us, Why practice 1000 passes to bordom. We should have attacked them and scored more. We have single players worth more than their entire team! I think we have enough talent to go at most of these teams agressively, outscore them, rather than slow build up, contain and retain. But thats not going to happen, so i hope confidence grows and we start attacking more with intent to score more than one goal over the opponent.
  23. Hope so! Every big club fan i speak to is shocked how low the offer for JWP have been, they all rate him very highly! This so far has been a one club man, box to box player, great stamina, tidy player and got into the England squad! Will be the best free kick taker in the EPL soon, imagine the publicity of that alone, it will be world FB news! But wetspam get to have that? We loose our next banner boy (like RL) for 30 mil? Seems crazy to sell him after building a team around him, not being under pressure finacially, and pushing to go straight back up. JWP IS MR SOUTHAMPTON.......for now 😭
  24. I was wondering what manc and chels thought of all this? Manc put a buyback for Lavia for a reason, there is none on the other manc players. Phillips doesnt seem to be Pepe fav. He prob wants him back after a few years with us. Not to be sold to a rival. Will we be overlooked for thier next star( they have quite a few, even the next KDB) if we mess up the "loan deal".?? Same for Chels, known star sign to us cheap with a buyback, another developement loan? As niether has been sold yet, U wounder if manc and chels will have a say in these moves. They have both shown they are exceptional tallents in the EPL, wouldn't those clubs want them back, just not so soon. PIROE rumored to want to go to italy, he will be able to leave for free in Jan. Not seen a single link to us.
  25. Dont forget they are in breach of ffp, we should not be dealing with them over our players, but dealing with this: Everton face legal action from Leicester, Leeds, Southampton and Burnley that could run into tens of millions of pounds if they lose their case for an alleged breach of the Premier League’s financial fair play rules, which the Guardian understands will be heard on 25 October.
