So happy he is getting more game time and showing he can play and be an asset. Always thought some of our fans were harsh on him constantly wanting to get rid of "bambi on ice". He has skill, pace and a never say die attitude! So happy Ralf has seen he's good attributes and is finding a space for the lad. He and the new young players are all showing they can handle and thrive in the prem.

Wow, MLG you have alot of devoted followers, this is about a potential player and they all want to talkabout is you. You must feel proud of your followers hanging on your every word. They all jump to get in the first adorning response to appease you. You are truly a GOD.

Good to see AA show some form. Hopefully he can build some momentum and show his talents. Always thought he was a tidy player, good in tight spaces, quick feet, thinks quickly and has pace. He is a good striker not only based on his CL scoring, but on Broja comments, that he was the best finisher at the club, in training at least 😉

I hope so, we supposedly offered good money for Liam, unusually showed our hand I think because we really want him. We haven't given up! I was sure we had after Pepe shut us out. Joe must be pushing hard for this kid! Yes another big gamble on a kid, but as you saw yesterday, these young men have plenty of talent to match our seasoned pros. I hope it is not a loan, as we saw what happened with broja. We showed the world what he could do and thus priced ourselves out. I would rather Liam than ineacho. I think Joe having known both would prob have Liam too. Ineacho is a bigger gamble, 25 and not holding down a first team spot at a rival team....why? Not enough game time, why not? Not impressive at training? Leicester had a horrible run last season, yet ineacho could not make the team or have an impact? I am not writing him off, he obviously has talent, but will he suddenly come good by swapping to SAINTS?

Both have power, but the player has the ultimate power if they are belligerent. VVD was a perfect example of how we tried to hold on, but the player decided to down tools and do a half arsed job. Schneiderlin's transfer on the other hand did his last year admirably. Cucarella has reportedly put in a transfer request, so Brighton may have a VVD or a Schneiderlin on their hands, which one, we will see.

Wow, Chelsea are going all out for their targets, it may all be paper talk, but to scupper both man city and united deals is showing alot of balls. All the work the Manchester clubs, especially United for de Jong, to loose out to Chelsea would be hilarious. But the Chelsea youth must be worried, this continued loading up of big players to Chelsea must have an affect on their long term decisions. So in the sport of getting one over your rivals (yes we have played Chelsea well enough to call us a rival, hehe) let's go after one of their targets! Cesare Casadei, 19, Italian midfield mistro! Chelsea low balling Inter at 6 mill, they want closer to 15m or a lower price with buy back, LET'S DO IT!

The Lionesses success - Five footballing lessons for us?

The men's need what the women had, LUCK!!! You can't beat lucky.... -
I presume you mean our established players will start as you do not rate any of the new signing. Why would I be worried about our established players playing against a team they drew, lost by one goal and won against? Seems as if they were good enough against Spuds last year. Why would I be worried this year. Our players last year were good enough to stay up, we added depth, why are you still predicting doom and gloom?
-
Oh no, Charlie is that you? You enjoyed our game......say whaaaaaaa......was looking forward to you not stepping a foot into SM. Oh well, I guess a leopard can change it spots. Nice to see you on the happy sauce today 👍

From Ralfs comments it seems we are in normal wait mode until the top teams have filled their boots. We unusually got quite a few signings done quickly. So not as much pressure as other years as we wait for the players who think they can get into a top team. This is actually exciting as we shoot for players that "are too good for SFC" and are being looked at by the big teams. When it comes clear they will not get a big club we swoop in. Maybe very late in the window so patience is needed.

Well done Ralf, he is trying to keep a very influential player on the field. One of my favorite players, but needing a rethink as his speed had gone. His composure is his greatest asset, seen him take many balls in close, quick pass or shield the ball, then pass the ball intelligently. His reading of the play and confidence he brings is invaluable. He did well in that holding mid last year, but at times he was easily run past and too slow to track back. So why not move him up the feild a bit. He can still influence the game without leaving us exposed to fast counters. Oriol is a sfc playing legend!

"But this time he is our player " is key to Ralf's thoughts. I think the Broga loan and giving him playing time over our signed strikers and not being able to buy the player without alerting the pl rivals or selling club of the potential of the player that we invested a year in, was a risk he is not willing to make again. That's why we went so big on Liam, buy or good bye. I don't think we will loan him. A loan for injury cover is all we will use them for. For exciting prospects a loan will just increase price and competition for their signature. Broja may still happen, I have seen he is happy here, he is not, we can afford him, we can't....so we wait.... The loan and attempts to buy Broja and Liam were interesting strategies. Showed huge ambitious and balls! These 2 were under long contract and very highly rated, we have very little bargaining power. If like Tino, contract soon expiring, we have a much better chance of getting their signatures. I think we were damed if we do, damned if we don't.......We are advertising ourselves as the "go to club" for showcasing youth talent. We showed them we wanted them because they are too good to ignore, and sitting behind a wall of senior players it must be tempting for the players. We sent our message......we are after serious youth talent seriously! -
Come on Joe, you tried the obvious players you have worked with in City, but we need your vision on the next hidden gems, the ones you would recruit for City! If we are offering 20 mill for Delap, what could we get on the continent for the best youth, probably 2 or 3 for that price?
-
I was wondering the same thing about City and Chelsea, we have taken some promising talent off of them, and Joe! To sell more of best young assets to SFC might be too much, as we will have a bigger draw for the rest that see their mates playing for Saints. Chelsea was a steal of a deal for Tino, they seem to want to get some of that back with Broja, and seem to be not open to offers for more of their youth talent. The two clubs must be wondering what they would create if SFC was successful in recruiting these highly rated youngsters. We are the thorns in those 2 clubs as we always seem to get some good results. They don't want to create another Leicester.

Very exciting young talent, soooo much potential! seems perfectly suited to our style of play. If that report is any indication of what we have brought, he could be a great buy! Loving the young players we are getting, the "moneyball" scouting, 6-15 million for young players who are 6'+, fast, skilful, play aggressive and will work hard defensively. There are so many great young players out there that we can buy just before they get established or on the cusp. As many have said it is a gamble, but we have stacked the deck in our favor. To the boards credit, they have delivered a new owner, management team, coaching and scouting that fits with their new model of buying the best young talent in a price range that is sustainable. SFC have some serious talent off the field! The new recruits have all been highly praised by media as being shrewd business for exciting young tallent. Welcome Mr. Mara, may you be the best you can be at SFC! -
Joe Shields - Head of 1st team recruitment

Sheilds has already been instrumental in bringing in a few of our new exciting young players, all very highly regarded. He seems to be able to convince the young stars of the new Southampton project and with his knowledge of young players we are benefiting greatly! This is a crucial appointment , 👏, and he is immediately showing what his connections can produce. Exciting times to be a Saint. -
Great deal for another exciting young player . he has played all over the field and plays mid and front line very effectively, most minutes on field played over last season of any player in the world, proves he has got an engine and robustness for the pl . 1 in 3 goal scoring and just Learning the front line positions , plays for super eagles, what's not to like for 6mil. WELCOME JOE!
-
This new owner has brought us, and how many other clubs and still adding! He brought 4 players with good potential that other clubs pay for one player. How is he skint? If he can't afford 40mil in players, how can he expect to buy more teams, more investment into infrastructure, more in organization cost, as his conglomerate gets bigger. To sell kwp for 15 mil or what evert the buyer is willing to pay is poor business, and SR doesn't come across as a poor business man. Assests will be sold, but at a very good premium for our star players.

Any new striker must be quick and able to run their socks off after lost causes. Ralf tactics of closing down the keeper with our central striker take alot out of them@ Danny was the best at it, but you could see how much energy it take to keep doing it and wether it is worth it. Broga tried and wasn't good at it. I would rather Ralf adjust his press to not have so many waisted energy runs at the keeper.
-
Because we decided to give him a squad he can work with he might like it so much, he might not retire and stay with us for another 5 years! wouldn't you be soooo happy with that! Would you get a ❤ Ralf tattoo on your derriere!

Your are a prick and a bully, picking on a kid for his name, how childish, you seem like a bitter, out of touch, old bastard. Be proud of your name Tyler, and good luck to you, by all accounts you are a great talent in football. May your life be full of blessings.

Love the guy, he is great to have around for his commitment and passion, his warrior attitude is brilliant and something we are needing. I think he should stay, at 27k a week, and with the pedigree, he has the ability to come good. I thought he showed some good ball skills, and would like to see if his aggression can be used in the holding mid enforcer type. See some of the great attributes we have to work with from a torino fan. I want to give him a chance to see how good this player can be. "Why! Why on earth did Torino get rid of him so abruptly? When he's been playing, he's been one of our best players this season. Not only is he extremely aggressive when going in for challenges, but he is also passionate and a leader amongst the ranks of our team. He shows traits of being an incredible defender at times. His passing range, pace and stamina are all also really underrated in game. 76/82"
-
I think it was Broga that said Adam Armstrong was the best finisher in training. Let's hope he can show that this season after Ralf has drilled in his automism over the summer.
-
Didn't Ralf say he was looking for a cb that could also be a holding mid. last year? and we got Lyanco. His ball skill and aggression are good enough to play in either postition. I haven't seen him used in the holding mid under Ralf. But I think he could play well in that position with his size and skills.

Fuck you have become childish......joined the bully boys have you?
