Now we have BBD in our team, can we tempt more Chillean players here? Can BBD encourage his fellow Chileans to come to the mighty Saints? Some really good values in South America, we have started looking there recently with Charlie and the 2 Sao Palo players. Lets Chill with the Chileans 😎 Marcelino Nunez (Universidad Catolica, Chile, 22) Dario Osorio is a Chile international at the age of just 20 and has been long tipped for big things. Moved to Danish Superliga team Midtjylland on a five-year deal last summer. In his first season in Europe, he has scored eight goals in 23 top flight games

Because Celtic hold the cards, this will go all the way to the end of the window! This could be our markee signing and these type of players are always done late on in the window due to other interest in a player that could play for a top club. Liverpool is said to be interested in Celtic playmaker Matt O'Reilly, who scored 19 goals and assisted another 18 in Scotland last season. I hope RM is the deciding factor for Matt because he can have bigger clubs to pick from.

Sheffield United targets Wolves' Ki-Jana Hoever and Southampton's James Bree to fill the void left by Jayden Bogle at right-back. Southampton and Leicester City are keen on Liverpool sensation Ben Doak Southampton and Leicester City are considering a move for Liverpool starlet Ben Doak this summer Jesurun Rak-Sakyi favours a move to Southampton over Leeds United this summer after the Saints made a move to sign him from Crystal Palace. Huddersfield Town are reportedly set to battle with Bolton Wanderers and Wycombe Wanderers to secure a loan deal for young Southampton forward Dom Ballard. Newcastle United are set to battle with Southampton, Ipswich and Atalanta to sign Birmingham City wonderkid Jordan James Sheffield United are keen on a move for Stuart Armstrong following his exit from Southampton, Trabzonspor supremo Dogan has revealed the current state of play.“Southampton dropped from €15m to €10m for Onuachu. We increased to €7m”, report that Southampton failed with an initial £8.5 million bid but remain keen. The Saints may feel increasingly emboldened, meanwhile, as Camara turns his nose up at a £13.5 million move to an as-yet unnamed Saudi Arabian outfit. Southampton will have to raise their bid considerably to get near that Saudi offer, though Metz may be forced to consider lower fees after suffering relegation to the second-tier. Camara was one of the few bright sparks last term, alongside their Monaco-bound talisman Georges Mikautadze. The youngster opened his Ligue 1 account with a David Beckham-esque lob from his own half and already has six goals for the senior Senegal national team. Some have suggested that Camara may be Senegal’s brightest young talent since Mane – the one-time Southampton star, lest we forget – exploded onto the scene.

Starters Alex McCarthy - 6. Nearly spilled one but recovered and made an exceptional save at his near-post shortly after. Could he have done better with the free-kick? Pass straight to striker went unpunished. Yukinari Sugawara - 7. Solid outing for the new signing. Looked good throughout, bar a couple of problems with the Montpellier left-winger. Brilliant cross for Harwood-Bellis's goal. Ronnie Edwards - 8. Really impressive 45 minutes from the 21 year old. Covered the spaces in behind him well and was there to meet it. Only beaten once by this. Excellent ball and assist for Dibling. Jan Bednarek - 8. Was on it from the first minute and did some important defensive work. Displayed his passing range with one crossfield pass early on. Impressive welcome back for him. Charlie Taylor - 7. Solid signing again and had a good outing except for two moments where he was caught drifting forward. Otherwise, composed and precise in his passing. Flynn Downes - 8. Everywhere on the pitch, particularly in the first half. Made several big tackles and was his usual excellent self. Not too much else to say other than impressive. Will Smallbone - 7. Missed an early chance but was constantly a step ahead of the opposition, forcing them to look to foul him. Will be a key player this season. Joe Aribo - 8. Really strong and technically impressive. A bully in the midfield and has impressed Saints staff so far this pre-season. Regularly retained possession in tight areas. Kamaldeen Sulemana - 6. Terrible penalty and was really fortunate to be given a second chance to convert it. Sometimes aimless with his movement but responded well to pitch-side coaching. Sam Edozie - 7. Edozie won Southampton's early penalty well but missed two chances not too much harder than open goals. They marked him down but was good going back and forward. Tyler Dibling - 8. Acclimatising to a new false nine position but grew really well into the game. Started off with some sloppy touches and needed coaching. Became a threat and took chance so well. Taylor Harwood-Bellis scored from the bench (Image: Matt Watson / Southampton FC) Substitutes (HT) Taylor Harwood-Bellis - 8. Great header to score Southampton's third goal of the game and otherwise solid. Was a vocal leader and could be heard orchestrating Amo-Ameyaw. Nathan Wood - 7. Steady operator with not too much to shout about but looked slick in possession and didn't have any defensive problems. Sekou Mara - 5. Missed the penalty in shambolic fashion and did not do much else. Did pick up some good areas where he was not found by his teammates but otherwise unimpressive. Sam Amo-Ameyaw - 8. Lots of creative ideas and regularly involved after he entered the pitch. Worked really hard to make things happen, set up O'Brien-Whitmarsh for one and won a penalty. Substitiutes (60') James Bree - 7. Huge tackle on the Montpellier player messing around in front of the goal to prevent the concession. Steady operator. Has a good chance of being backup this season. Ryan Manning - 7. Continuing his inverted full-back role stepping into midfield for the final 30 minutes of the match. Has clearly worked on it over the summer, looked comfortable in possession. Shea Charles - 6. Goes under the radar again but took up some decent advanced positions. Did not do anything wrong but was coached on the side twice after picking up wrong man while marking. Joe O'Brien-Whitmarsh - 6. Good run in behind but didn't quite choose between crossing and shooting quick enough and asked too much of Alcaraz. More comfortable in natural role and linked well with Amo-Ameyaw. Charly Alcaraz - 6. Worked hard to try and make an impression but didn't really do anything of note. Still question marks over where he fits in this team, Dibling is ahead of him. Jay Robinson - 6. Looked lively without impacting the game. Good experience for the 17 year old to be with the first team staff and players for a full week overseas.

Trabz dont want ya TP..... Trabzonspor boss comments on Wout Weghorst interest Often, managers aren't keen to name specific individuals when talking about transfer targets, but Avci wasn't shy about naming Weghorst as a potential option and namechecked Southampton loanee Paul Onuachu as the type of signing he was keen to avoid. He told Isci Haber (via Turkish Football😞 "We did not get enough of Onuachu last season. "He first went to the African Cup with the Nigerian national team, then suffered an injury. "I don’t want to face the same problems again, that’s why Weghorst is a name that suits us better. If we finalise his transfer, it will be an important development for us."

Chelsea have brought so many players over the last few years. Here is a list of current players, not mentioning all tkhe youth talent they are stock piling. LAVIA listed at 35mil. But another fire sale in a few years could see his price drop? Some decent prices on some of them. FFP has put pressure on all teams to balance their books, clubs looking at big clearouts of over bloated squads. We showed interest early in the transfer window that RM wanted him, put the first official bid in for him. Seems this is one RM really wants and will pay a Celtic and Saints record fee. Hope RM man management charm can pull this one off!🙏 Same with Jack Clarke at Sunderland, we showed earliy interest in one of the Champs best wingers. We got rattled by the high price, but we will prob try to get him in that 13-15m. 🙏

Southampton interested in Slovenia defender Vanja Drkusic Even though every elite club has an extensive scouting network and databases full of information about potential targets, major international tournaments still represent a huge opportunity for players to earn a big move. This summer’s Euro 2024 was no different and a Slovenia defender appears to have caught the eye of Southampton. That is according to Mundo Deportivo, who report that Southampton, Leicester and Sevilla are all ‘interested’ in a move for Vanja. The report also suggests that Drkusic is valued at a bargain fee of just £3 million, meaning he could prove another astute bit of business for Southampton. Interest in Drjusic could merely be Southampton being opportunistic in trying to sign a player who has impressed them for a bargain fee. However, it could also mean a defender is set to leave the club and that will be the worry as Jan Bednarek enters the final year of his contract.

15 mill for Downes, great deal, 3 mill add on if he reaches certain milestones. ( keeping us in the prem should be one?) the newly promoted side has not paid the entire £18million fee upfront as originally expected, but will pay the difference when add-ons are activated.

We are putting together a group of very talented 20ish CB. TBH, Ronnie, Wood, Zach Awe, and Nico Lawrence. All playing/training in PB football. PB is very demanding on the CB, to identify young CB that can play this style and improve is very smart. If they make the expected step up and becomd PL standard we will have a very solid CB options, which is very important to RM PB style.

I can not see KWP leaving for the 2 clubs supposedly interseted in him, Tott and WH. Niether are stating he will be the starter, both metion he will be backup? I do not see KWP being an auto starter at Saints and worshiped by our fans going to sit bench at some big clubs. Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to sign a new right-back to act as a back-up to Pedro Porro. As for wet spam, check out this beauty https://www.hammers.news/transfer-news/saints-trying-to-get-smart-over-triple-deal-so-west-ham-must-break-their-hearts/. KWP not even their first choice. Give him a new and improved contract 🙏🙏🙏🙏.

He could prob do a job a holding mid if needed as he was a midfilelder most of his career, very comfortable and technical with the ball, defensive skill honed as a cb. Whats not to like about him, very pleased about this young man's potential.

Roden wanted to go to Leeds. We and other clubs interested. Gray is the swap deal they can use for the FFP cheat code. If Roden (20mil) wants PL, we have interest in him, we can use Alcaraz (30mil) as a swap, TOT very interested in him. Throw in Ryan Sessegnon (10mil), for our Argie and call it a done deal, no monies transferred. Heck, we could double the figures and still not transfer any monies, but book huge profit. Surpised if we don't use this swap cheat that other teams are using to get infalted fees on the books with very little monies actally being transferred. KWP, proven PL, mature 27, can play both sides, should be worth a "cheat swap" for young developing Downes and a free Ben Johnson?

https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/articles/c5111jg2r3yo Good artical on how some clubs are fudging the PSR/ FFP rules. Player swaps are being used to inflate income. If KWP is wanted by WH or Tot, could we "player swap" with them as they have players we want? Theorerically we could sell onachu for 20 mill on the books but recieve 15 mill in players, leaving buying clud with a 5mil outlay, we infalted sell price, they infalted sell price, we can all book better financials as that income from selling is booked as profit, where as the buying is amoratised over time. Are we playing this game or are we one of the clubs complianing its not fair?

Shite, brain fart , mixing up the 2, i should have shut the fuck up and stayed asleep, may bad , appoligise for confusion.

How old are u? For those that have short memories of saggy chops. Chairman Rupert Lowe risked the ire of Saints fans when he appointed Harry Redknapp as manager on 8 December 2004. The news shocked much of the football world, as Redknapp had resigned as manager of Saints' arch-rivals Portsmouth just days previously. Redknapp failed to rejuvenate the Saints, and on 15 May 2005 Southampton were relegated from the Premiership following a 2–1 home defeat to Manchester United, ending 27 successive seasons of top division football. On 24 November 2005, Portsmouth manager Alain Perrin, the man who himself replaced Harry Redknapp at Southampton's arch-rivals, was sacked by chairman Milan Mandarić. Rumours gradually grew apace that Mandarić and Redknapp had resolved the dispute that caused Redknapp to walk out in the first place, and that he was poised to rejoin his former club. With these rumours seemingly reaching breaking point in the media – not to mention the bookmakers – Redknapp walked out on Southampton on 3 December 2005.

Some possible Che replacements ........ Carlton Morris. Despite Luton’s relegation Morris was a real standout performer in his first season at Premier League level and combines a battling, ruggedness to his game with a real cool head in front of goal. Having made 26 goal contributions to get Luton to the top flight in 2022/23, Morris showed he has what it takes to score in the Premier League with 11 goals and four assists last season. Morris is similar to Adams in his ability to hold the ball up and link the play but is a better finisher than the 27-year-old. Bojan Miovski long-term Southampton target At 24, the North Macedonia international has plenty of time to improve but is already at a level where he could be a real asset for Southampton having scored 26 goals and provided four assists in all competitions this season. Neil Warnock recently had a short spell in charge of Aberdeen and credited Miovski as being the best striker in the veteran manager’s long career, He’s just a top finisher. I’ve always struggled with strikers, throughout my career. “I’ve been good at goalies, centre halves and midfielders but never really on a striker. “Ironic, isn’t it, that coming to this stage of my career I’ve got probably the best one I’ve ever had.” With his fee likely to only be around £6 million, Southampton could have themselves a bargain. Joke of the day: A well-liked figure amongst the St Mary’s faithful, Strachan knows what it takes to keep Southampton in the Premier League

Spanish side Real Betis have identified Perraud as a potential solution as they look to strengthen the left-back position. Southampton have received a boost in their hunt for Werder Bremen man Leonardo Bittencourt with their director making a bold transfer claim.
-
I hope he can perform like he did in the last few month in the chamoionship. The statistics that prove Joe Aribo can step up in the Premier League Southampton’s midfield trio of Downes, Smallbone and Aribo was so successful because it had a blend of tenacity, creativity and skill. Downes often sat in front of the defence while his teammates were given license to maraud forward, a part of the game that Aribo excels at. When comparing him against other midfielders in the Championship, the powerful midfielder is levels ahead of his peers, especially for his explosive ball-carrying, passing range and ability to receive the ball in tight spaces. As highlighted by FBref, Aribo ranks in the top 9% for progressive passes per 90 (7.40), the top 8% for touches (Att Pen) and the top 4% for progressive carries and progressive passes received.

We always have to wait to the end of the teansfer window as we are usually going for players that are looking/ hoping for bigger clubs, and Saints asking less than what the selling team want. NOTHING new there. What is different is 6 PL teams are in breach of FFP and will HAVE TO SELL before June 30th to avoid points detuctions! This give us a chance to do some business early if we are after any of those teams players.
-
Gakpo reason for not choosing Saints....dang “The Eindhoven resident initially remains secretive about how he made his choice, but then opens up: “People might think I’m strange. I could go to Southampton, Leeds came into the race and PSV wanted me to stay. “I presented the three options I had to God. If I scored once, I would go to Southampton. If I scored twice I would go to Leeds and if I scored three I would stay at PSV.” To put such a monumental career decision down to how many goals you score in one game is certainly an interesting way to choose and – unfortunately for Southampton – Gakpo scored the first hat-trick of his career that night in a 7-1 win.
-
We have been scouting him for some time, liked his progress, playing 1st team ball at 18, and see something in him. But your 5min video has made your mind up and dismissed all the pro scouters efforts???????
-
Or Stuey, replacing a senior player with another that can bring PL experience, leadership and knows the club inside out!
