Questions over why Fellows was taken off. Could it be due to the complete change of approach second half? Did anyone else notice that very time McCarthy got the ball it was a long ball up to Stewart to nod down. Keeping the ball in utds half enavled us to pressure them and score two quick goals. Maybe Fellows had to be sacrificed for this. Of course when Stewart went off we should have changed tactic again as suddenly every long ball came straight back. Overall good to see Still change at half time. Something previous managers have failed to do!
Feels like the club have caved in again. Absolute bargain for newcastle. If their champions league campaign fails then they have the option to offload him back to us at which time his value will probably have dropped. Another asset that could have provided funds for a rebuild has been lost it feels
This list has made me smile remembering some of the legendary players we have had over the years. But top of the list for me would be Little Bobby Stokes. For a club that has only won one major trophy in its history, ths man who scored the winning goal - for a second dovision club - to win the cup, should be top of the pile. It doesnt matfer what else he did, or even that he went to P*ompey! The rest of the 76 cup team make up the next 11 places!
I am having the same feelings at half time as I was having during a fair number of saints games last season!
This is like the worst days of Russball. Hopefully Southgate can adapt at half time, and certainly in the next game. Currently no pace, no movement, no innovation
As poor as we were, I think we have to concede that Bristol City played very well. Full of energy from start to finish, and were very quick on the break. True, we made it easy for them by giving the ball away too often, but credit where it is due.
